„GOP stage show „ALIVE“: Pure energy and breathtaking acts

With "ALIVE," the GOP Variety Theatre Munich presents its final show of 2025 – and what a finale it is! The show runs from October 16, 2025, to January 11, 2026, even extending into the new year. A vibrant mix of acrobatics, dance, comedy, and breathtaking artistry awaits you on stage, guaranteed to entertain and lift your spirits. "ALIVE" truly lives up to its name!

The artists from all over the world bring incredible energy to the stage – with spectacular high-flying feats, daring juggling, and charmingly humorous moments that are guaranteed to make you laugh and marvel. Each act tells its own little story – sometimes fast-paced, sometimes poetic, always captivating. "ALIVE" is one of those shows where, as a member of the audience, you experience life in all its facets – vibrant, loud, emotional, and simply beautiful. My companion and I enjoyed the funny acts the most.

The set menu at Restaurant Leander includes three courses for 39 euros.

Restaurant Leander: New culinary concept; perfectly suited to the show

Follow our example and start your stay at the GOP Variety Theatre with a great meal in the variety restaurant „Leander„Since the show "ALIVE," Restaurant Leander has introduced a completely new culinary concept. The menu is primarily vegetarian; however, those who would like to enjoy meat or fish can add it to their chosen main course. This ensures that all guests, including vegetarians, will find something to their liking at Leander.

For a starter, you can choose between two options: a puréed potato soup with croutons and lovage oil, or a pumpkin quiche with Roquefort cheese, Tellicherry pepper, Williams pear, and lamb's lettuce – both wonderfully aromatic and perfect for beginning your evening. For the main course, you now have a choice of four vegetarian options, which you can supplement with meat or fish if desired (braised and grilled Alpine beef or the fish fillet of the day from the Birnbaum fish farm): – Conchiglioni with fig, port wine, Brussels sprout leaves, chestnut, and goat cheese; – Grilled salsify with pearl onion chutney, caper leaf, smoked sweet potato purée, and herb jus; – Forest & Meadow with Bavarian wild mushrooms, parsnip, wild herb flan, and potato straws; – Red lentil dal with pickled vegetables, tandoori yogurt, naan bread, and plum-ginger chutney

For the grand finale, two tempting desserts await you: Florentines in a glass with almond, chocolate, Amarena cherry, and Tahitian vanilla, or Bundt cake with salted caramel, pumpkin seed parfait, and date balsamic. My companion and I thought the new concept was fantastic – it transforms the evening before the show into a true culinary experience. Whether you're vegetarian or a meat and fish lover, you'll leave the table satisfied and happy. We opted for both the appetizers and dessert to sample everything; for the main courses, we chose one meat and one fish dish with salsify and forest & meadow vegetables.

Dining in the theater hall
Those who prefer to dine directly in the variety theater can opt for a pre-arranged two- or three-course meal – with a starter and main course before the show and dessert during the intermission. I also find this option convenient, as you can enjoy the show without missing out on the delicious food. Perfect if you want to enjoy your dinner in a relaxed atmosphere at your seat.

Alternatively, there's also a snack menu for all guests – featuring classics like fries, nachos, or a hearty snack. Perfect if you prefer a simple snack. Either way, no one leaves hungry. Throughout the evening, you can also enjoy a great selection of wines, non-alcoholic drinks, and specially created cocktails.

No matter what you choose – the menu at Leander, dinner directly in the variety hall or snacks during the show – the GOP Variety Theatre always manages to combine culinary delights and spectacular entertainment into a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Conclusion, tickets and table

The evening at the GOP was, as always, a resounding success: The menu at Leander was delicious, plentiful, and fresh; the show "ALIVE" had my companion and me laughing and amazed – as is typical at the GOP. The blend of humor, acrobatics, and musical accompaniment ensures that you lose track of time and simply enjoy yourself. An experience you'll remember for a long time.

Prices without a set menu start at €59 per person. As described above, you then select your desired menu option and pay an additional €23 or €29 per person for a two-course or three-course set menu in the theater hall. Vegetarian options are also available for the set menus in the theater hall. My personal favorite is the "Set Menu at Leander followed by a Show." Depending on the package, the price is already under €85 per person when you combine the show and the set menu.

About the GOP Variety Theatre

There are seven GOP Variety Theatres in Germany. The one on Maximilianstrasse in Munich first opened its doors in 2008 and will surprise you in 2025 with four diverse and entertaining stage shows. The theatre is divided into a spacious foyer, the main auditorium with its stage, the "Leander" restaurant, and a bar integrated into the foyer where you can enjoy drinks before and after the shows.
