I&#039;m talking about the Ordercube. Munich&#039;s first restaurant cube, designed to make service more welcoming and efficient. Ordercube helps restaurateurs (and ultimately their guests) to be more efficient and targeted with their service.<\/p>\n<p>In busy restaurants, things are always hectic, and even the best service team sometimes finds themselves stuck at a table, waiting and waiting and waiting. Moods plummet, hunger grows, and in the end, neither side is truly satisfied because the service is penalized with a lower tip. The founders of Ordercube (Daniel Pasternak and Igor Suslov) addressed this problem, coupled with their desire to make service even simpler. The idea arose from their own experiences of frequently waiting well over 30 minutes in restaurants before finally being able to order and later pay. This results in seamless and efficient table service without the waiter constantly hovering around the guests. Admittedly, this doesn&#039;t sound much different from the typical job of a waiter in the restaurant industry, but it significantly simplifies their work. Once the guest has made their choice, they press the ORDER button on the top of the cube. After this, the Ordercube begins to smoothly change color from green to red (the gradient is adjustable). This makes it easy for the waitstaff to see how long the customer has been waiting for service. It would certainly be difficult if the server had to constantly monitor all the tables, or rather, all the cubes. Therefore, there&#039;s an easy-to-use Ordercube app that allows users to see on their smartphone or tablet which tables are currently ordering. If the wait is &quot;too long&quot;\u2014more on that in a moment\u2014the cube will change color completely to a pulsating red. At this point, the server can react and come directly to the guest&#039;s table. The app also allows users to customize not only a pleasant candlelight mode but also the duration of the color gradient. Should the color change take 2, 5, 10, or 20 minutes? Not so, because the cube is intended to facilitate what is already a near-perfect service, rather than necessarily improving it. Of course, that&#039;s also a factor, because ultimately, guest satisfaction increases when they don&#039;t have to wait long, leading to more tips and more repeat customers. If the server notices that the color gradient of an order cube placed on the table has become too intense, they approach the guest, take their order, and tap the cube \u2013 this stops the color gradient and reactivates the candle mode. The battery can be recharged in a practical and stylish charging station (for up to five cubes) in the evening or after 30 hours of operation (full illumination). A full charge takes two hours. Inside the dirt-resistant coated cube are four RGB LEDs, ensuring that even in the brightest environments \u2013 indoors and outdoors \u2013 no green or red light will be missed. The cube even automatically adjusts its brightness to the ambient light. Specifically designed for robust and potentially rough handling by guests, the cube can be ideally controlled by staff via an app, allowing for statistical analysis and thus process optimization. The price for one order cube is \u20ac90 (net). On Kickstarter, the cube will be available for \u20ac75. Only those who act quickly can purchase one of the first 100 units at a special price of \u20ac65. Restaurants and pubs also have the opportunity to apply for a field test.
