Looking for other Asian restaurants? \u2013&gt; http:\/\/biancas-blog.de\/category\/alle\/asiatisch\/<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Last night, my companion and I spontaneously decided to have dinner at Cocosnuss on Zweibr\u00fcckenstra\u00dfe. We had originally planned to go to a Greek restaurant in Bogenhausen, but it was inconveniently closed on Friday evening, so we spontaneously drove into the city and ended up at the Vietnamese restaurant Cocosnuss, which we had been wanting to visit for some time.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- Responsive Flie\u00dftext --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-1770258545384845\" data-ad-slot=\"7477610216\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p>The restaurant is very small and doesn&#039;t look particularly inviting from the outside. Part of the menu is displayed in a small, illuminated box outside. However, it&#039;s not apparent that there are any other dishes available. We peered through the glass window into the restaurant and saw that all but one small, cramped table for two were occupied. We were about to turn around and leave when another couple approached us from behind and remarked that the food was actually very good. We offered them the empty table and were about to go when they mentioned there was one more small table available and suggested we give it a try. So, on a whim, we went in.<\/p>\n<p>So we ended up taking a seat at the originally free, rather narrow table right by the entrance. The restaurant is very narrow\u2014a maximum of 3.5 meters wide\u2014and stretched lengthwise. There are only about ten tables in total. We were promptly handed the menus by a very friendly waiter. They were quite extensive and offered many delicious-sounding dishes. It took us a while to decide what we wanted to eat. We opted for an appetizer, two main courses, and a large bottle of still water (Adelholzner).<br \/>\nBesides the friendly Vietnamese waiter, there was also a second Vietnamese server who spoke almost no German. This wouldn&#039;t have been a problem, of course, if we hadn&#039;t had a rather unpleasant incident with our appetizer. We opted for the Goi Cuon Tom appetizer (two spring rolls wrapped in rice paper, rice noodles, herbs, king prawns, and bean sprouts with hoisin sauce) for six euros. When it was served relatively quickly, I bit into one of the rolls and happened to glance inside and saw a long, black hair wrapped around it. Unfortunately, that&#039;s the kind of thing that makes me feel completely nauseous and completely ruins my appetite \u2013 it certainly wasn&#039;t intentional, but it was all over. We called the waitress and showed her the hair. She seriously pulled it out of the roll \u2013 or rather, ripped it off \u2013 threw it on the floor, and said, &quot;Hair. Where?&quot; while pointing at the roll. I couldn&#039;t believe my eyes. I asked her to get the German-speaking colleague. He apologized profusely, immediately removed the appetizer from our seats, and had us ordered a new one. He apologized about ten times, joked with us, even offered to show us how to eat the appetizer properly, and suggested that next time we simply ask the waitress to eat it right in front of us if there wasn&#039;t a hair on it. \ud83d\ude09 So we were served the appetizer again. According to the waiter, canceling the order wasn&#039;t possible because the system had already recorded it. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>For our main course \u2013 which we ordered together with the appetizer \u2013 my companion chose Bun Bo Cha Gio \u2013 beef stir-fried with lemongrass, Vietnamese spring rolls, rice noodles, vegetables, herbs, bean sprouts, coriander, basil, cucumbers, peanuts, and homemade sauce for \u20ac13.00 (the website says \u20ac10.00 \u2013 incorrect!). The portion was ample and good value for the price. The Bun Bo Cha Gio was excellent. The same goes for the fish (pangasius fillet) with rice and fresh vegetables (Ca La Chuoi) that I ordered for \u20ac17.00. The online menu lists it as \u20ac13.30 \u2013 that&#039;s also outdated. The fish was exceptionally delicious, and the rice with the \u2013 very sparingly distributed \u2013 vegetables, combined with the sauce served over the fish, was divine. So, apart from the hair (which, despite my general aversion to hair, can always happen), there was nothing to criticize about the food. The price is just about acceptable \u2013 fish is rarely available for less than 15 euros.<\/p>\n<p>Despite its long, narrow shape, the restaurant itself is very cozy. Green walls, mirrored in the upper section with dark wood trim, wine bottles, and small trees serve as decoration. In the back, in addition to the approximately 10 tables inside, there&#039;s a small bar with 5 stools. These aren&#039;t located directly next to the small, dark bar\u2014which is decorated with lots of kitschy, flashy trinkets\u2014but rather against the wall in the corner. The restroom is clean but very basic\u2014the decoration consists of a pine branch, and the towel is a paper towel roll. \ud83d\ude42 The tables are very close together, and finding two main course plates in addition to the decorations, rice bowl, and cutlery is quite a challenge. White tiled floors, white\u2014sometimes quite stained\u2014tablecloths, rose heads in a vase on the tables, and many green elements make the restaurant quite cozy overall, even though its small size makes it relatively noisy and cramped. (We sat at a small table just a meter inside the entrance.)<\/p>\n<p>It&#039;s certainly not ideal to have different prices on the menu than online, or even to include hair in the appetizers, but we were still very satisfied and would come again. The waiter was very attentive and genuinely sorry that our appetizer wasn&#039;t tasty on the first try. The restaurant itself is pleasant \u2013 not particularly chic or upscale, but pleasant. The food was truly delicious, and card payments are accepted. So there&#039;s really nothing to complain about. There are plenty of rice and noodle vegetable dishes for vegetarians. I would definitely recommend a visit if you like this kind of food. We paid a total of 43 euros, including tip, for an appetizer, two main courses, and a bottle of water.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I&#039;ll be back: <\/strong>Yes, although not everything went smoothly. The food was delicious and the waiter very attentive.
