Biancas Tasty Tour Flughafen MuenchenFood & Style Festival at Munich Airport | August 12–14, 2016 Today was the second of three days of the Munich Food & Style Festival at Munich Airport. This festival is currently taking place (from August 12th to 14th, 2016) in cooperation with "eat&STYLE" and "Charivari – Munich's Hit Radio" on the grounds of the airport's annual winter market at the MAC Forum. With this article, I'd like to encourage you to stop by tomorrow, August 14th, sample the food, and enjoy the sunny Sunday. There's plenty on offer.

The Food & Style Festival – What can you expect?

Since I've been working with Munich Airport over the past few weeks to ensure that many interesting food trucks, artisan producers, and other vendors participate in the festival, I was naturally there myself to sample the various delicacies and experience the festival firsthand. More precisely, I spent the entire day at Munich Airport today, chatting with numerous vendors, food truck owners, and artisan producers, and also... Live interview Munich Airport participated in the festival.

„"One Mantis, please!"“

Besides the stalls and food vendors, another highlight is the live cooking stage. I took an hour today, sat down in the cozy lounge with a delicious cocktail and burrito, and watched the stage show. It's worth visiting tomorrow just for that. As a visitor, you have the opportunity to watch several chefs and experts at work. From savory to sweet, from meat specialists to dessert experts, there's something for everyone (chefs Ludwig Maurer, Andrea Schirmaier-Huber, Véronique Witzigmann, and Tobi Stegmann). There's also plenty of music on offer, for example, with the German-Egyptian artist Sharyhan Osman, who blends soul, pop, and jazz in her voice.

You will most certainly have fun, eat well and be full, and of course come home satisfied and with great products.

The exhibitors at the Food & Style Festival

My day at the Food & Style Festival

I really treated myself, let me tell you. I started with a pulled pork burger made with meat that had been prepared in the smoker for 16 hours, at the Schweiger Brewery Hut. Let me tell you, the burgers here are especially good. They offer various options – including the Bavarian Burger, but the Pulled Pork Burger for €7.99 not only tastes amazing but also offers great value for money. You'll be pretty full afterward. (Again, my advice: share!). Then I strolled around the entire festival, chatted here and there, and inquired about the various products. For example, WYLD is also there – and will be tomorrow as well – with fantastic organic porridge, muesli, and superfoods (more about...). WYLD Organic Muesli and WYLD Superfood and Organic Porridge). Likewise, for example Munich Child With fantastic sandwiches, mustard in all sorts of varieties, and a wealth of expert knowledge in tow. It's really worth stopping at every stall and exploring the products. I'm sure you won't go home empty-handed.

Turbo Bao Burger

While chatting for a while, I passed the Burrito Company guys and thus – no joke! – the best burritos in town. They offer tortillas (€4) and burritos (€8), and you absolutely shouldn't miss them tomorrow. Burrito Company has two shops in the city (Augustenstraße 74 and Baaderstraße 68) and offers top-quality products. Definitely worth trying or just popping into the stores! By the way, right behind the Burrito Company stand you'll find…„Lezizel Manti„"These are Turkish dumplings – basically noodles, with either a vegetarian or beef filling and various toppings. Soooo delicious, and yes – I couldn't resist them either. (…I was there all day, which makes you hungry ;-)). So it's best to set aside some time to try everything. (Five hours of free parking in P20!)".

Michael Freismuth from the Burrito Company and I

So I had sampled burgers, burritos, and Turkish dumplings – sharing some with my companion – and continued looking around. I was particularly interested in the Taiwanese burger from Turbo Bao I simply couldn't resist and tried a small portion. It was delicious, with a subtle heat from the mango-chili sauce, which was poured over the succulent meat inside the very light, white bread. If you prefer something a bit spicier, you should definitely try a bite (…or two or three…). For those of you with a sweet tooth – which I absolutely couldn't manage – there are donuts, crêpes, and waffles, along with excellent coffee from the coffee cart.

I was impressed by the Food & Style Festival and I'm seriously considering coming back tomorrow to try the remaining stalls. The cocktails from Hirschstadl They're a great refreshment, by the way. With or without alcohol, and in all sorts of varieties, they'll still be available tomorrow. Do yourself a favor and don't miss a thing. Not the live cooking shows, the music, the cocktails, burgers, burritos, dumplings, artisanal products, spices, and so much more... You'll have a fantastic day – admission is free.

Below you'll find more impressions from the festival. I hope you enjoy the food!
