FOODORA – Food delivery service directly from the restaurant

Have you heard of foodora? You've probably seen one of their stylish bikes in action, parked in front of a restaurant, or even held a flyer. Maybe you've even ordered from foodora before. No? Wrong. Because foodora isn't just some run-of-the-mill delivery service for pizza, pasta, and the like, selected from a flyer or online menu – no, foodora offers what I've always wanted: delivery of ready-to-eat meals to your door from YOUR favorite restaurant. How cool is that? Especially for me. And an added bonus: If you order from foodora and enter the code "bianca_eats," you'll save on delivery costs (usually €2.90, depending on distance) and only pay for the meal itself.

As I've mentioned countless times, my kitchen hardly ever sees me, yet I still have those "lazy days" when I'm forced to leave the house simply because the food I crave isn't available for delivery. "If the mountain won't come to Muhammad, Muhammad must go to the mountain," or rather, if the food won't come to me, I have to go out. Not so fast. Thanks to foodora, that's no longer a problem. foodora has answered my prayers and offers a list of exclusively high-quality, sophisticated restaurants on its website – after you enter your postcode – to meet the high standards of its customers. This means: enter your postcode, select a restaurant, the restaurant prepares your food fresh, a driver picks it up and delivers it to you in a flash (really, in a flash!). In other words: I no longer have to leave the house, but can still enjoy my much-desired meal from, for example, Lezizel Manti (Turkish dumplings), Kaimug (Thai), La Taqueria Isartor (Mexican), etc., at home. Could it get any better? Imagine craving that delicious pizza from last week, but you're already sitting in front of the TV in your pajamas. Well, until now, that would have been "tough luck!" But thanks to foodora's—in my opinion—revolutionary idea: "No problem!" Simply pick up your pre-paid meal at the door via PayPal and enjoy it at home. A fantastic idea and a healthy alternative to traditional takeaway. The ingenious idea originated in 2014, and foodora was officially founded at the end of March last year.

The choice of dishes is limitless. You can easily order online from the office or from home, and all you have to do is wait. Just to be clear: foodora delivers food that you wouldn't normally be able to get delivered because the participating restaurants don't offer delivery services. Foodora takes care of that for you.

Regarding the selection of restaurants: As mentioned, only high-quality restaurants are listed. I know all of them personally and have actually visited and tested each one individually. And it's true: there's no gimmick here – you can expect nothing but good things. Of course, the clear advantage for the participating restaurants is undeniable. They save on costs and effort, as they don't need to hire their own delivery drivers. At the same time, the additional delivery service increases their online reach and appeals to a wider audience. When I went to the website to choose something, I was even more impressed than by the basic concept itself. Far from it, if you think it's just pizza, pasta, and maybe a few exotic salads or soups. Ultimately, it's very quick and easy to get an overview of what's available, as you only need to enter your postal code. Here are a few more examples of food, snacks, and other treats that you can now have delivered to your home thanks to foodora: Fresh smoothies from "Super Danke," cupcakes from "Wir machen Cupcakes," donuts from "Boogie Donuts," excellent pasta from "Del Fiore" at Gärtnerplatz, delicious burritos from the "Burrito Company," and much more. The variety of restaurants covers every preferred taste—from Bavarian to Indian to Thai. And whether you're a business professional, a food lover, or a family, everyone will find something here, usually at the same price as you would in the restaurant.

They even think about the environment. The packaging is eco-friendly, and everything is delivered by bicycle. This means no additional waste is generated, and the environment isn't burdened. In fact, you're indirectly doing something good for the environment by leaving your car at home and waiting for your foodora bike delivery. I already mentioned how quick the delivery is. You know those commercials for delivery services on TV where a guy sits at his laptop, clicks "order," and the doorbell rings about two seconds later? That's how I felt. 🙂 It really was quick and was delivered by a very nice woman – with an obviously excellent sense of direction – on her bicycle. So, thumbs up for the service too. This service is offered by over 650 participating restaurants in nine different countries and 15 cities. Thank goodness we're one of them!.

I can't give a general review of the food here, of course, since there are countless restaurants and therefore a wide variety of tastes and dishes. My meal – I opted for pasta with zucchini and scampi, as well as a pizza with Gorgonzola and walnuts from Gianluca in Haidhausen – was fantastic. You can, of course, decide entirely what you're in the mood for. To ensure everything runs smoothly, the focus is currently on Munich's city center. Just check the website to see if you're included, and when you order, remember the discount code mentioned above.

My conclusion: You absolutely have to try it out. Next time you're hungry, step off the beaten path and order your food from one of the restaurants or find a delicious meal on foodora. I'm definitely impressed. Simply because a service like this has been missing for a long time, and it works perfectly. I think I'll order a Bavarian delicacy from Bazi's Schlemmerkucherl next... or maybe a burger from the Burger House... ah...

I'll order again:  Yes. Fast, personalized, and my favorite food from my favorite restaurant – that's no problem here.

That sounds really exciting! I'll test the service tonight.
I often order food delivery from Meyer Menü at the moment. It's quite convenient and inexpensive.
