In "Bianca's Tasty Tour" I test all the restaurants of the Munich Franz-Josef-Strass Airport. An overview of my restaurant reviews for food, drinks & gastronomy at Munich Airport can be found here. The list will be updated gradually.
Airbräu – Restaurant and beer garden at Munich Airport
Airbräu is arguably the most legendary Bavarian restaurant at any airport. This is certainly due not only to the incredibly friendly staff and the world's only brewery located at an airport, but also, and quite clearly, to the fantastic Bavarian food. Classics like Zwiebelrostbraten (roast beef with onions), Schweinshaxe (pork knuckle), Wiener Schnitzel, and more can be ordered here at fair prices. Whether in the rustic, covered beer garden overlooking the MAC Forum (now the Christmas market area), in the cozy restaurant, or in the barn – the atmosphere at Airbräu at Munich Airport is always convivial, and the food is absolutely delicious!
Mangostin – Asian restaurant at Munich Airport
Mangostin Airport offers upscale Asian cuisine. The restaurant features soups, salads, curries, stir-fries, and much more. Affordable noodle bowls are also available for business lunches. Delicious meat dishes and a variety of sushi creations are the hallmarks of Mangostin. Dine in a cozy ambiance with an Asian flair and a very open and friendly atmosphere. Fresh sushi is available to go at the "Sushi Box." On Sundays, a generous brunch is offered, featuring a variety of Asian appetizers, main courses, and desserts.
Cloud 7 – Superfood and crêpes at Munich Airport
Cloud 7 is a café/restaurant that opened at the end of April 2016 on the visitor terrace of Munich Airport. The view from the location is hard to beat, and when you add summery beats playing, fresh superfood salads, lunch dishes, and freshly made crêpes to the mix, a holiday feeling is guaranteed. Inside, Cloud 7 is also comfortably furnished and ideal – along with its terrace – for lively parties or simply enjoying after-work drinks with friends and colleagues. Great salads, superfood dishes, and even ice cream on sunny days are available at Cloud 7.
Sissi & Franz at Munich Airport
Sissi & Franz is a restaurant located in the airport's new departure building, specializing in Austrian-Bavarian cuisine. It's only accessible to passengers; otherwise, this part of the building is closed. Diners at Sissi & Franz can expect wonderful, traditional Austrian dishes, including classics like Wiener Schnitzel, Kaiserschmarren, and more. A cozy atmosphere, an on-site coffee roastery, a shop, and a takeaway counter await guests. Freshly made sandwiches, hot meals, and other items can be ordered to go or enjoyed at Sissi & Franz.
Surf and Turf at Munich Airport

The 5th test: The surf and turf
Surf & Turf impresses with its beachy vibe, cozy atmosphere, and delicious seafood. Fish, especially paired with tasty steaks, is the star of the menu. Dishes include delectable baked potatoes with king prawns and sirloin steak, fresh Caesar salads with scampi, fish baguettes, and much more. The takeaway counter also offers a variety of fish-based delicacies, such as sushi, sandwiches, and main courses like fish and noodle stir-fry. Everything is freshly prepared, and you can pick up your food using a pager, which is provided when you order. For the best experience, grab a cozy spot inside the light blue VW bus, complete with a surfboard on the roof. Pure beach feeling!.
Käfer Bistro at Munich Airport
The Käfer Bistro, located on the ground floor at Munich Airport, offers a cozy atmosphere where you can enjoy Bavarian and international cuisine. Within minutes, you'll forget you're at the airport. The kitchen prepares excellent dishes, and the service is competent, attentive, and friendly. The menu features classics like Wiener Schnitzel and Weißwurst, as well as more unusual creations and a weekly changing house special at lunchtime. A variety of breakfast options, including egg dishes and extras, are also available.

Bagutta Pizza Culture is located right next to Mangostin Airport and impresses with delicious pasta, fantastic salads, a variety of meat dishes, and, of course, an extensive selection of pizzas. You can enjoy your meal in a cozy yet chic atmosphere with a spacious, open view and the opportunity to peek into the glass-walled kitchen and watch the pizza chef at work.
