Aircraft Beer at Munich Airport | August 8, 2016 – As beer connoisseurs and lovers of exceptional brewing, you'll be pleased to hear this. From now on, Airbräu at Munich Airport (Airbräu review Munich Airport) offers its own craft beer specialty: „Aircraft“.

What makes this beer so special is clearly that "Aircraft" Beer is handcrafted at the airport brewery. This artisanal approach was also a key focus in the design of the logo, the bottling process, and the labeling of the new beer.

What makes an "aircraft"

This beer is a light, unfiltered lager with an alcohol content of 4.91%. It is brewed using Hallertau Perle grapes and has a fruity flavor. Naturally, it adheres to the German Purity Law: only water, barley malt, and yeast are added. It matures for four to five weeks at three degrees Celsius in the fermentation tank and is then bottled by hand in small batches by the brewer.

„Craft beer is more than just a new, short-lived trend,“ explains Gerhard Halamoda, Managing Director of the airport subsidiary allresto. „With our new ‚AirCraft‘ beer, we combine our openness to innovation with the long-standing tradition of brewing. This allows us to offer our customers a truly special creation in the world’s only airport brewery.“ Philipp Ahrens, Head of Center Management at Munich Airport, adds: „The rustic Airbräu in the heart of the airport is a popular meeting place for travelers and visitors alike and has now established itself as an integral part of our culinary offerings.“

You can now order the beer from Airbräu. By the way, you can find more information about craft beer in this great article I presented a while ago. Book about craft beer.
