THE DUKE Gin Art Edition | Limited Edition - I love THE DUKE Gin. Ever since I learned of its existence, visited the Munich distillery in Schwabing, and practically always have a bottle at home, I've been a fan. Munich gin is already known for its exceptional taste and flavor. Now there's something new to report: THE DUKE is also revealing itself as a visual treat. I'm talking about the new, limited-edition art label, for which the gin distillery collaborated with three Munich artists from the creative collective FYFY. The result: The Bavarian juniper spirit THE DUKE Gin with unique labels. These labels, presented in pairs with two different designs, showcase the distinctive character of THE DUKE Gin. I absolutely loved the result and each individual design.

How did the THE DUKE Gin art edition come about?

How did it all come about? The companies "THE DUKE Gin" and "FYFY" both originate from Munich and place the utmost importance on genuine craftsmanship in the production of their products. The final product of each Munich label is naturally very different (gin and vodka vs. Munich souvenirs and clothing), but they share the crucial characteristic of always creating and producing with a deep love for their Munich roots. Thus, THE DUKE Distillery sought suitable graphic designers and artists for the "THE DUKE Gin – Art Edition" concept. They needed artists who not only complemented THE DUKE Gin but also shared its Munich heritage. After some time, they found three artists from FYFY (Annette Granados Hughes, Linda Nübling, and Gabe). The work of bringing the designs to life began.

The design

The design was inspired by sayings and slogans related to gin. „Ginsalabim,“ „Ginspiration,“ and „The Gin of Life“ helped spark ideas. However, the three artists freely designed and created the rest, giving free rein to their creativity in terms of design, color, and style. The three resulting editions are named „Copper Edition“ by Linda Nübling, „The Gin of Life“ by Gabe, and „Magic Munich Edition“ by Annette Granados. Each edition tells a different story.

For the past few days, you've been able to buy THE DUKE Gin – limited art edition – for €39.90 per bottle. But be quick – there are only 2,000 THE DUKE bottles per design, meaning 4,000 bottles per edition. Undeniably, all the bottles are beautiful, and the gin even tastes a tiny bit better from them. 😉 My personal favorite, however, is definitely the simple "black and white" copper edition, with two graphic representations of the fine gin ingredients on the labels by Linda Nübling.
