The Mastercard culinary journey continues in April 2026, this time taking you to Schwabing. This month, you'll once again have the opportunity to discover a select Munich restaurant with Mastercard through an exclusive menu – bookable as usual via the experience platform. priceless.com.
After classic elegance in March, the focus shifts to urban, modern, and convivial: La Bohème is the place to be. In a relaxed, stylish atmosphere, international cuisine meets a concept that consciously embraces sharing enjoyment. My companion and I sampled the April menu, which you can reserve, in advance. (Here is the link leads to the publications and menus of previous years.)
La Bohème – Urban enjoyment in Schwabing
Right in the heart of Schwabing, on Leopoldstrasse, you'll find La Bohème – a restaurant that embodies contemporary lifestyle, high-quality products, and a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere. Since its opening in 2016, its concept, excellent service, inviting ambiance, and superb food have made it one of my favorites in the city.
From the moment you step inside, you'll notice that everything here is geared towards conviviality: a spacious dining area, urban chic, and an atmosphere that feels both relaxed and sophisticated. The concept thrives on sharing – from select cuts of meat to international dishes, all intentionally designed for tasting together.
What makes La Bohème so special, in my opinion, is the skillful blend of casual dining and sophisticated cuisine. The kitchen focuses on quality and modern interpretations of classic ideas, while the service remains attentive yet pleasantly relaxed and friendly. This very balance ensures that you'll feel perfectly at ease here, whether for special occasions or simply for a delightful evening. It's the ideal place to experience the Mastercard menu, which you can reserve for April 2026.
The four/five-course sharing menu in April 2026
From April 1st to 30th, 2026, La Bohème will be offering a menu that perfectly reflects the typical style of this popular Schwabing restaurant: high-quality, varied, and ideal for sharing. It starts with homemade, fluffy focaccia with fleur de sel and olive oil – an uncomplicated start that will immediately whet your appetite and keep you occupied at the table.
The first course is already sophisticated: you can expect beef tartare from Black Aberdeen filet mignon and flambéed tataki from the same cut – attractively presented, intensely flavorful, and elegantly executed. A successful start. If you wish, you can also add yellowfin tuna akami (for €12 – not part of the set menu).
Next up are Dynamite Prawns and Wagyu Beef Balls – a combination of quite intense spice, exciting texture, lots of aroma and at the same time one of my favorites of the menu.
For the main part of the multi-course menu, you have a choice: you can opt for four or five courses. If you choose the four-course menu, the Lava Stone Wagyu Experience is omitted – but I would personally highly recommend taking advantage of it. The Japanese A5 Premium Wagyu from Kagoshima is grilled directly at your table on a lava stone and is one of the highlights of the evening, both in terms of taste and atmosphere.
The third course brings classic elegance: Chateaubriand of Simmental beef fillet is flambéed and carved tableside – a truly unique experience that perfectly combines craftsmanship and indulgence. A particularly appealing aspect of the sharing concept is that a dinner for two includes two side dishes and one sauce per person, all freely chosen. The selection includes Pimientos de Padrón, Mediterranean vegetables, wild broccoli French style, Bohemian dirty fries, truffle fries, fries with rosemary and fleur de sel, and truffled mashed potatoes. For the sauces, you can choose from demi-glace, truffle jus, peppercorn sauce, BBQ sauce, chili dip, truffle mayonnaise, miso mayonnaise, or Béarnaise sauce.
If you'd like something a touch more elegant, or perhaps even want to celebrate a special occasion with the Mastercard menu, you can enhance it further with half a lobster tail (+€39) or pan-fried duck liver "Rossini style" (+€14.90). The choice is yours.
To finish, a dessert sharing session awaits you with Bohemian Banana Split, Cheesecake Cloud and Coconut Crème Brûlée – a sweet finale that once again demonstrates the restaurant's sophistication and, without exaggeration, shows how well enjoying food together can work.
To complement the menu, you can choose between alcoholic or non-alcoholic wine pairings – both options are perfectly matched to each course. The classic pairing range includes Crémant Rosé, select white wines such as Côtes du Rhône Blanc and Riesling, and Burgundy and Blaufränkisch for the main course, followed by an aromatic finale. Those who prefer non-alcoholic options will be served equally thoughtful alternatives like Bohemian Cup, Chai Tiki, Orchard Cooler, or Basil Smash, whose flavors are remarkably well-matched to the dishes, making the sharing menu feel just as complete.
My conclusion and your booking
My visit and the multi-course menu at La Bohème demonstrated once again how well a modern restaurant evening can work: relaxed, stylish, and at the same time of a high culinary standard. I particularly appreciated how harmoniously the menu was structured – varied but never overwhelming, high-quality but never complicated. Sharing the courses, discussing them, and enjoying the high-quality ingredients was a real pleasure here.
I am therefore delighted that you, as Mastercard cardholders, will also have the opportunity to experience this special place in conjunction with the exclusive menu in April 2026. If you fancy a delightful evening with true "gastronomy professionals" in an urban atmosphere, this is the perfect opportunity.
Please remember that advance reservations are required to secure your table. The complete sharing menu is a truly harmonious experience that will allow you to forget about everyday life for a few hours. I wish you a wonderful time enjoying your meal – and an unforgettable evening at La Bohème in Schwabing.
