SUSHI CIRCLE – Sushi Course for Beginners – Experience Events Regiondo

Sushi course for beginnersI recently tested Regiondo. Regiondo offers events in various categories in different cities, including Munich. I tried out Regiondo's services and courses and want to tell you about my experience course. It was a real success, lots of fun, and ended with a sushi party (just for me!). 🙂

Regiondo's website is very clearly laid out, and after you've chosen your city – in my case, Munich – you can either start browsing all the offers directly or set filters and select categories. Regiondo offers over 11,000 leisure activities in total. A couple of filters are quite helpful, I think. You can choose from four different price ranges, decide whether it should be indoor, outdoor, weather-independent, or at home, and also select the language, the type of event (relaxed, casual, action-packed, romantic, etc.), and even narrow down the search to who the results should be suitable for (men, women, couples, seniors, babies, pet owners, etc.). I thought that was great, and I was able to quickly find what I was looking for: food and drink. So I selected all the offers available in Munich (and optionally the surrounding area) and chose those under €100. (There are also courses, events, and the like starting at €200 – for men and for you who want to give your wife something nice again. 🙂)

Well… I looked around a bit and was thrilled with the selection. Sure… too many choices can be overwhelming, but in this case, it was fine for me. Maybe a Japanese dinner for two or a dine & crime dinner? Or perhaps a molecular cocktail course or the after-work cooking class? The selection was truly incredibly creative, and it took me ages to decide. I chose the sushi cooking class in Munich, which lasts 2.5 hours, is extremely centrally located (at Stachus), and at €79, was—in my opinion, as I can now say after taking the course—absolutely worth it. Not only can I now make sushi myself (really!), but it was also fun. We even went over the allotted time, and the friendly sushi chef kept answering our questions and showing us interesting sushi creations. Not to mention, of course, the tons of homemade sushi we were allowed to take home. The course was run by Sushi Circle. A fairly well-known and widespread sushi restaurant that also offers these fantastic courses. The branch I visited (very open-plan, located in the gourmet section of the Karstadt department store) even has a quiet and very tasty conveyor belt sushi service. This means the sushi rolls past us in small bowls from the very beginning of the course, where we first received a brief theoretical introduction (about 5-10 minutes). Immediately afterward, the participants (10 people – a very manageable and pleasant group size) were able to get started. A huge plus! I've taken so many courses where participants just stand around or watch for up to 1.5 hours. Of course, there are many more elaborate courses that require more expertise and theory, but hands-on experience is still the best. 🙂

From the first step to the last, right up until we ate, we were given every necessary detail in the course. We learned what the sushi rice should be like, which varieties are suitable, which side of the nori seaweed sheets (the black one on the outside of the sushi – pretty tasteless in my opinion) should face up, which ingredients work well, how to roll the sushi, and so on. At the end, we even got to take home the small straw rolling pin (for shaping the different sushi rolls). So I can wholeheartedly recommend this course.

When I booked the course online, it was very easy. You simply register or log in via Facebook, and you're essentially a Regiondo customer. After ordering and paying (e.g., via PayPal), you receive a confirmation email. In my case, the course participant then confirmed and sent the voucher directly via email. If you book at very short notice, you'll be notified no later than six hours before the event starts. I booked on a Wednesday, and the course took place on Saturday. However, I recommend booking a bit earlier, as Regiondo isn't staffed on weekends, and if you haven't yet received confirmation from the course provider, you won't know whether you'll be able to participate or not. Your request for smaller courses—like my sushi course—is reviewed and approved directly by the provider. Regiondo's service itself is excellent. It's well-organized, the staff are knowledgeable and happy to help with any questions, and, as mentioned, they offer a wide range of courses.

I would have loved to book the same course again, but since the range of courses is endless, as mentioned, I sat down again the very next day and looked at what else I could do. Often, courses like this aren't worth the price. But since that wasn't the case at all with the Sushi Circle beginner's course – quite the opposite, in fact – I was immediately hooked on the "Regiondo course bug." 😉 Besides culinary courses, you can also do a lot of sports (e.g., golf, rafting, tubing, squash…), wellness (massage, floating, style consultation…), culture (city trips, museums, exhibitions…), and more. I spent quite a bit of time browsing the website, partly because I was looking for a gift for my friends. In my opinion, it's an ideal gift – especially since you can order a gift certificate or gift box from Regiondo, and the recipient can then choose what they want to use it for.

I know there are numerous portals offering similar leisure activities, but with Regiondo I also felt very personally supported and that it wasn't easy to get lost in the overview. The website is so well-structured that you can easily navigate and quickly find what you're looking for. So, if you're in the mood for a little adventure, looking for a gift, or want to try something different with friends, partner, or family on the weekend, check out Regiondo. You usually receive an e-ticket for your event – so you don't need a printer and are sure to have a great experience – whether alone, like me when I became a sushi chef 😉, or in a larger group.

I'll book here again: Yes.
