„Double Magic“ – the new stage show at the GOP Variety Theatre Munich

Do you love magic? – The new show "Double Magic" at the GOP Variety Theatre in Munich will whisk you away to a world of illusions and countless goosebump moments. The enchanting duo Jay & Jade will leave you breathless with levitating people, appearing birds, and spectacular grand illusions. Alongside them, top international artists like Katheryna Nikiforova with her precise bouncing juggling, the powerful aerial acrobatics duo Alansia, Duo Shum on the Cyr wheel, and Dmytro Shmygovskye on the flying pole will showcase fascinating feats of artistry – a blend of elegance, precision, and performance that will leave you in awe. The whole experience is rounded off by the captivating comedy of Anthony Venisse, who will have you laughing with his endearing slapstick and French charm. Directed and choreographed by Aleks Uvarov, with set design by Sebastian Drozdz, this approximately two-hour show offers a modern yet classic theatrical experience. My recommendation: Round off your visit to the GOP Variety Theatre with a delicious meal. You have two excellent options: Enjoy your meal either in the stylish theatre restaurant „Leander„ or directly in the theater hall at your seat. An exclusive show menu is created for each stage show and is offered throughout the entire performance.

At Restaurant Leander, you can create your own personal three-course menu. You choose from two different appetizers, four different main courses, and two desserts – all seasonally inspired and lovingly prepared. The package starts approximately two hours before the show or immediately afterward and costs €39 per person (plus ticket).

Currently, the appetizers include a choice of chilled cucumber soup with green apple and smoked trout or tuna tataki with papaya, chili, coriander, and miso. For main courses, you can choose between baked veal breast with peas and carrots and rissole potatoes; secreto Iberico pork with white bean mousse; Arctic char from local lakes with black risotto; or baked potato with chili sin carne, apricot, date, and sriracha. Desserts include tonka bean crème brûlée with vanilla mousse or Manchego cheesecake with lavender ice cream and Manuka honey.

Alternatively, in the variety hall you have the choice between a pre-set two- or three-course menu to start your evening: appetizer and main course before the show, dessert during the intermission – ideal if you'd like to be served food right at your seat. As an alternative to the set menu, there's a snack menu available to all guests, featuring fries, currywurst in a jar, nachos, and other light meals. So even if you haven't booked a set menu, you certainly won't go home hungry.

Throughout the evening, you can choose from a diverse selection of wines, non-alcoholic beverages, and specially created show cocktails. Whether you choose a meal in Leander or the main hall, or snacks in the theater, the GOP combines culinary delights and spectacular entertainment into a truly enjoyable experience.

My companion and I particularly enjoyed the stage show "Double Magic," and it's one of our favorites so far this year. The incredibly talented artists and acrobats, as always in their shows, impressed us just as much as the "magician and hosts," Jay and Jade. We repeatedly looked at each other in disbelief, simply unable to comprehend where the white doves suddenly appeared, how flexible people could be, and how incredibly talented the performers were as they floated across the stage.

About the GOP Variety Theatre

There are seven GOP Variety Theatres in Germany. The Munich location on Maximilianstrasse first opened its doors in 2008 and has since surprised audiences with an average of four to six diverse and entertaining stage shows each year.
