Restaurants in Munich – my personal favorites I'm often asked, "Bianca, what's your favorite restaurant in Munich?" It's not an easy question to answer because I love trying new things, sampling different cuisines, and discovering new places. Besides, it always depends on what I'm in the mood for. If I've already had sushi three times a week, I don't necessarily need to go to the best Japanese restaurant in town on the fourth night. Similarly, I don't want to eat roast pork with dumplings several times a week, no matter how well it's prepared.

I understand that opinions on Munich's "favorite restaurants" will vary widely, as personal experience and individual taste play a significant role. However, since I'm quite familiar with Munich's restaurant scene and only eat in restaurants, I'm confident you'll always have a good meal at the following locations. (If that's not the case, please let me know.)

I can tell you: I always enjoyed the food there, and these restaurants are definitely among my favorites. You'll also find numerous other options. Top lists on my site (e.g. for cafes with Wi-Fi or great beer gardens, kebab shops, Kaiserschmarrn and the like)

The Harlaching hunting lodge is great! We always go there when someone has a birthday or something like that.
My son loves the cheese spaetzle, which are always served with a few pots of spices, herbs and roasted onions.
We try something different almost every time and are always thrilled!
What I like best is the cozy Christmas decoration….

    Hi Martina,
    I only just discovered it myself. I've eaten their Käsespätzle at least 20 times already. The same goes for the fish, Kaiserschmarren, and other dishes. It's really great there, like my second home. 😉 The chef is fantastic and everyone is very friendly.

Hi Bianca, thanks for the cool info. I definitely like Black Rider and Shoya the most from your list.
Last week I discovered a new Italian restaurant in Munich that's really modern. They offer classic dishes like Margherita, pasta, and so on, but there are many things on the menu I've never seen before: square pizzas, burgers made from pizza dough, and dishes with ingredients like walnut cream. I thought it was strange at first, but I'm absolutely sold.
I'm not sure yet if it's my "favorite" Italian restaurant; I need to try more from the menu. But it's definitely in my top three so far. It's really hard to find on Google because the restaurant is probably very new, so here's the link. https://www.noahsmuenchen.de/

If anyone tries it, I'd like to know if I know of any similar restaurants, or if it's truly unique.
