„WEINMAHLEINS“ on June 29, 2018 at ELLA – In May 2018, due to personal reasons, I unfortunately couldn't attend the popular "Weinmahleins" (Wine Dinner) series hosted by Mastercard Priceless Munich for the first time. Together with the city magazine inMünchen, they organize a fantastic monthly event featuring high-quality multi-course meals with perfectly paired wines. Now, back home, I'm giving you a sneak peek at the June "Weinmahleins" event. For the sixth time, the motto of "Weinmahleins" is "Take a seat and enjoy." In June, ELLA at Königsplatz will be showcasing its best side, serving up a superb four-course menu complete with wine pairings and expert insights from the winemakers.
June 2018: Wine dinner at ELLA on Königsplatz
At the end of June, on Friday, June 29, 2018, Ella will open its doors at 7:00 PM. This restaurant, specializing primarily in Italian cuisine, boasts an inviting charm, warm golden hues, a glass facade, and sunny terraces, all situated directly on Königsplatz, offering a breathtaking view. Ella skillfully combines sleek yet striking design, a connection to art, and a passion for culinary delights. The menu features innovative creations, authentically presented and inspired by over 20 different Italian regions. The food is delicious, reflecting the attention to detail, the selection of high-quality ingredients, and the masterful blend of Italian and international flavors.

The menu and the wines
The wine-themed dinner evening in June offers true Italian food lovers a feast for the senses. The menu – created by owner Florian August and head chef Falk Beyer – entices guests with special delicacies paired with top wines from Frescobaldi. The evening begins with an amuse-bouche of arugula sorbet, sparkling wine jelly, and tomato skin – a delightful introduction to the culinary world of Ella. The meal continues with warm octopus, vineyard peach, wild herbs, and panzanella chips. The second course features tagliata of quail breast with Tuscan beans, sugar snap peas, and gremolata. For those who have always wanted to try elk, the third course offers elk fillet with Vinsanto figs, polenta fries, artichokes, and truffle jus. Last but not least, the evening ends with a culinary treat: a cardamom brownie with gianduja, citrus salad and pistachios.
For a harmonious and high-quality accompaniment – course after course – in the glass, Italian wines from the renowned Frescobaldi winemaking family will be served (for example, the famous "Masseto" comes from their wineries). It promises to be an exciting experience. This is partly because Karin Mauser from the same Italian winery will moderate the wine pairings, sharing interesting facts about the wineries, the wines being served, and their relationship to each course.
