PIEROTH WINE LOFT – New opening in Munich – On July 13, 2018, the Pieroth Wine Loft opened at Frauenstraße 12, directly adjacent to the Viktualienmarkt. Pieroth, or Pieroth AG, is a renowned global brand in the distribution of wine, sparkling wine, and spirits, headquartered in Burg Layen near Bingen (Rhineland-Palatinate). Pieroth was first mentioned in connection with wine in 1675, and the family winery has long since evolved into an international group of companies. With the opening of the Munich Pieroth Wine Loft, Pieroth demonstrates its comprehensive approach to wine, satisfying all needs and desires, from personal wine tastings and consultations to omnichannel distribution. Simultaneously with the opening, the company is launching its new label, the Pieroth Blueline series, an exclusive selection of varietal and regional wines that reflect the rich diversity of German wines and showcase Pieroth's modern philosophy. It is also possible to create your own taste profile in just a few steps and only 30 minutes.

The Pieroth Blueline – new, versatile and modern

The Blueline range at Pieroth Wine Loft

The Pieroth Blueline range is Pieroth's new premium brand, comprising a carefully curated selection of wines bottled in modern, royal blue Schlegel bottles ("Blueline"). To coincide with the opening, the stylish edition is prominently displayed in the entrance area of the loft. This edition, consisting of six varietal and regional wines as well as an estate cuvée, consists exclusively of Pieroth's own wines from Germany: an invigoratingly fruity red wine from Baden, a Rheingau Riesling, a ruby-red Dornfelder from the Palatinate, a Pinot Blanc with apple and pear aromas from the Nahe region, and a white wine cuvée (Riesling, Scheurebe, and Pinot Blanc) from Rheinhessen. A delicately fragrant Silvaner from Franconia is also part of the Blueline range and, together with the other wines, reflects the regional terroir – a characteristic evident in every sip. Overall, the Blueline serves as a representative cross-section of German winemaking. The undisputed flagship wine is the Blueline edition's cuvée. The grapes come from the Pieroth family winery located on the Nahe River, so it's worth a try.

Pieroth defines five different flavor profiles.

What kind of wine lover are you? – Pieroth knows the answer.

…and it's called the "Pieroth Taste Profile." With the opening of the Pieroth Wine Loft in Munich, Pieroth has made it his mission to determine each person's individual taste profile. No easy task, considering the flood of new, good, and not-so-good wines that inundate the market every year, as well as the inherent differences in personal taste and individuality. The Pieroth Taste Profiles (five in total) are designed to categorize each person into a kind of profile type. This categorization then allows for a highly accurate identification and tasting of suitable wines. Oenologists and market researchers also support Pieroth's theory for defining wine profiles and types. Within 30 minutes, the process involves 1) smelling, 2) assessing, 3) tasting, and 4) understanding which wine is right for you. The Pieroth Taste Profiles and their corresponding categories aim to make the world of wine more accessible to everyone. To make accurate assessments, the Pierother online experts tasted more than 800 wines, evaluated them according to various parameters, and categorized them into five taste profiles: full & fruity, smooth & subtle, fresh & crisp, tart & robust, and velvety & sensual. New wines, subdivided into these profiles, are added daily. The classification process relied heavily on in-house expertise, a trained palate, and state-of-the-art technology. The result: a sound system, which was also tested by Professor Dr. Rainer Jung, an expert in sensory analysis and oenology at Geisenheim University.

Board spokesman Dieter Freisler speaks about Pieroth

Of course, at the Wine Loft's pre-opening, I couldn't resist joining my colleagues for a small-group wine tasting to determine my own taste profile. While I knew from the start which direction I tended to lean towards, it was still exciting to test the accuracy of Pieroth's method. And indeed, it works! For me: low acidity, high residual sugar, preferably white wines, and a predominantly fruity, vegetal – less spicy – nose. The method defines preferences for sweetness, acidity, and tannins, as well as "red or white," "barrique," and even the "occasion." This determines whether you'll be drinking wine with food, for socializing, for relaxation, or for other reasons. All in all, it's an interesting approach that every wine enthusiast should try. Pieroth wine consultants are there precisely to help each client define their own profile – whether they're connoisseurs or casual drinkers. Anyone who's curious can find out more on Pieroth's website. find out which type of wine he is.

What does Pieroth stand for?

Also present at the pre-opening was Dieter Freisler, CEO of Pieroth Wein AG. He was on hand to answer questions and outlined the future direction of the Pieroth brand – including the opening of the Wine Loft. Pieroth aims to represent not only democratic wine enjoyment but also uncomplicated and easy access to the world of wine. While not every wine enthusiast needs to become a wine expert, Pieroth is happy to accompany every wine journey with one of its 350 in-house wine consultants in Germany – now also available at the Munich location on Frauenstraße. Direct contact at the Wine Loft and through personal consultations is complemented by the extensive [information/resource - context needed]. Pieroth online shop. Of course, Pieroth doesn't exclude the topics of wine cultivation and distribution, but rather strengthens these areas with a traditional foundation, coupled with corresponding wine expertise – and you can taste and feel it. As a customer in Germany, you can not only receive personal advice and support from Pieroth in their loft, but also immerse yourself in the Pieroth world at over 600 wine events and trade fairs.

Personal opinion and hard facts

The Wine Loft is modern yet appealing and inviting. In the back, there's a small "restaurant area" where you can comfortably sit, sample a bite to eat (provided by Zinners Catering from the wonderful Zinners restaurant in Taufkirchen), and of course, taste a few wines – optionally with expert guidance, or simply to find a moment of peace with a view of the Viktualienmarkt, naturally. My impression after the tasting, the mini wine tasting, and browsing the shelves of the Pieroth Wine Loft: It's worth a visit, whether you're a wine expert or not. That's precisely what Pieroth is all about: making wine accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
