I already knew that the startup focuses on modern solutions for picking up and storing groceries and packages; however, I wanted to see for myself how QOOL collect works and what other services they offer. I now know that there are five QOOL collect stations spread throughout the city, so I decided to ask more questions and try out the startup as a new user. QOOL collect not only provides a thoroughly convincing solution for shopping and package storage, but it's also a great partner for regional and fresh (organic) products, as well as for sustainability.

QOOL collect is simple and straightforward. After a quick registration from the comfort of your sofa, you're ready to go. Along with your account confirmation, you'll also receive your personal QOOL collect ID for your orders via email. In addition, you can then proceed online in the next step. selected pickup station The ID ensures that your packages are correctly assigned. Once the registration process is complete, you can start shopping. QOOL collect collaborates with various regional partners from diverse areas, allowing you to shop online at the "QOOL collect department store" in a relaxed manner and according to your needs. Once your shopping cart is full and your order is submitted, the QOOL collect team gathers your purchases from the regional partners, and you can pick them up at the station on the same day. You can also have packages from other delivery services sent to the convenient pickup stations using your ID and then collect them there. You will be notified via email and app when your deliveries are ready for pickup at your chosen station. With just one pickup trip, everything is taken care of.

The advantage is obvious: all your orders end up in one place, and you only need to stop by once to collect everything. For example, if you order fresh vegetables and a package from DHL or Amazon at the same time, you can time it so you can pick up all deliveries in one go. This eliminates unnecessary trips to multiple post offices or retailers. An added bonus: you can check the packages right there: Does the delivery fit? Do I like the dress I ordered, and is everything I ordered included? If something doesn't fit or you don't like the item, QOOL collect takes care of the return shipping, so you don't even have to take the package with you or return it. There are even fitting rooms available. Simply put, QOOL collect is like a good friend or neighbor who not only accepts and stores your packages but also keeps them refrigerated and insulated, and even does your shopping for you while you're at work, for example. I registered on the QOOL collect website, received my ID, and immediately took advantage of the opportunity to shop online in the digital marketplace. Currently, 25 partners from a wide variety of sectors are listed. From wine shops, fishmongers, and flower shops to butchers, cheese shops, and regional bakeries, there's a good selection of local partners. Whole cakes from "Kuchentratsch," vegetable-based bouquets from "VeggieFlora," and "Bavarian Hotdogs" are also available. And for those who love vegan ice cream, there's the organic ice cream manufacturer "Ice Date.".

Since I'm a big fan of traditional German snacks, I opted for cheese ("Mein Affineur – Tölzer Kasladen"), sausage and ham ("Metzgerei Past"), and a vegetable basket filled with all sorts of fresh produce ("Gärtnerei Böck"). I ordered a total of around €97 worth of goods and was already looking forward to picking them up in the afternoon after 5 pm, as I added the individual items to my shopping cart. With QOOL collect, you can pick up everything on the same day if you order by 3 pm (Monday to Friday). If this is different, or if specific delivery conditions apply, you'll see this information in the respective shop. After submitting your order, the clearly laid-out shopping cart is sent to you again in tabular form via email – a great overview of your purchases. Be sure to download the app and log in. It not only lets you view your orders and check their current status, but also allows you to track other packages that aren't being delivered to a QOOL collect station, but are being sent to your home. Just try it out! I deliberately ordered from three different retailers to test how the whole logistics system works. When you pick up your delivery, you'll be assisted by the staff, and your orders will be handed to you quickly and easily. Very convenient! Once all three orders were marked as "arrived" in the app, I headed to the QOOL collect station in Ramersdorf that I had selected beforehand. There, you pay for your delivery once, easily and conveniently, by card (debit or credit), Apple Pay, Google Pay, or cash, and then you're on your way.

Personal conclusion

I thoroughly enjoyed using QOOL collect, and the advantages are obvious: time savings (shopping, collection, and potential returns), a wide range of products, and longer opening hours (Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.) than any official post office, as well as personal on-site service. The personal support from staff who can respond immediately is also a plus. The products themselves were all top-notch. Of course, I can only speak from experience at the three locations (Tölz cheese shop, Past Butcher Shop and Böck NurseryThe vegetables were crisp, the ham, salami, and sausage were also fresh and securely packaged, and I was still enjoying a last bit of cheese today. A big plus is QOOL collect's conscious avoidance of packaging waste! The groceries are delivered in reusable baskets, resulting in significantly less plastic and cardboard waste than conventional delivery services. Excellent!

There were a few minor technical issues with the app here and there, and even three days after I'd already picked up my order, I received an email reminder to collect my delivery – especially since it included fresh produce. However, since I knew I had everything I needed, I wasn't too bothered. Otherwise, there were no complications or problems. Even if you do encounter any, you can always contact the hotline or the respective pickup station by phone, provide your ID, and get the information you need. I will definitely be using QOOL collect more often from now on.
