FOOD & LIFE 2017 – from November 29th to December 3rd, 2017, the annual FOOD & LIFE fair returns to Munich for the 14th time. Germany's largest gathering for food, drink, and culinary delights takes place in Hall C3 at the Munich Trade Fair Center. Around 300 exhibitors, including manufacturers, cheesemakers, coffee roasters, winemakers, distillers, and brewers, will demonstrate their respective crafts and showcase the resulting delicacies – predominantly produced regionally. Visitors can sample fine products from all over Europe and explore a wide range of offerings, tastings, and new discoveries. With its comprehensive program of seminars, workshops, and live shows, there's never a dull moment, and every foodie, culinary enthusiast, and connoisseur is sure to find something to enjoy during these five days.

Numerous rare items are also offered.

What can you expect at FOOD & LIFE 2017?

FOOD & LIFE offers high-quality, traditionally handcrafted specialties. From beverages; meat, sausage, and fish products; dairy products and eggs; spices, herbs, oils, and vinegars; to spreads, sweets, and baked goods; to gourmet and health food products; cookbooks, magazines, media, and more – there's something for everyone. For me, at least, spending "only" one day in the hall has never been enough, so I visit at least twice, if not three times, during FOOD & LIFE.

FOOD & LIFE 2017 is divided into various areas and themed sections. It is logically structured and designed so that you can quickly find everything you need in each area without needing much prior knowledge. In addition to the "BAYERN Culinary Workshop" and the "FOOD & LIFE Cooking Stage," you'll also find the themed areas "Best Steak" (…where everything revolves around regional meat, meat preparation, origin, quality, etc.); the "Munich Coffee House" area; and the "Spirit Bar.".

The numerous workshops and seminars offered each year are exciting and well worth a visit. In addition to daily menu cooking shows (two four-course menus daily in the "Culinary Workshop" with a special "taster price per course"), lectures, practical examples, and demonstrations on coffee knowledge await you in the "Munich Coffee House" area. Of course, you can also sample, taste, and shop here. Celebrity chefs will once again showcase their skills on the "Cooking Stage," cooking live under the motto "Regional Reimagined" in up to seven cooking shows per day. Here, familiar recipes and ingredients are given a fresh twist by these renowned show kitchens. The program is hosted by "Radio Arabella.".

Furthermore, the Munich Whisk(e)y Market will take place this year as part of FOOD & LIFE 2017. More precisely, on Friday evening, December 1st, 2017, a pre-opening event will introduce you to the world of Munich Whisk(e)y. On this evening (…as long as you are over 18…) you can expect a captivating and immersive experience with the finest whiskies in your glass, experts on the subject, and fellow whisky enthusiasts. Professional kilt makers will demonstrate their skills, there will be live music, and delicious Scottish specialties can be enjoyed at the elegant drinks bar. FOOD & LIFE 2017: The exhibitors – a brief overview

With so many exhibitors, I want to help you get a brief overview. You should really stop by as many stands as possible, even just briefly. It's simply fascinating when everyone tells their own story, lets you sample their products, and demonstrates or explains what makes their particular product special. You can then usually taste and learn about the products yourself right at each stand or exhibitor area. What I like best is that everything is so tangible and real, and you can ask questions, try things out, and taste everything right there on the spot.

For example, "3fruits & friends GmbH" offers all-natural, organic apple-based snacks in high-quality packaging; "Abonauten UG," a gin start-up, lets you regularly discover new gins through a gin subscription; "Andechser Molkerei Scheitz GmbH" presents organic dairy products from Andechs; "Burgis" showcases everything potato-related; "CAESAR & CAESAR" presents Italian organic olive oils; and "Del Fiore" presents its wonderful ice cream (…I love it…). There's also plenty to discover related to beer, wine, schnapps, and spirits. For example, the "Enzianbrennerei Grassl" will be there, whose gin (Miner's Gin 1517I recently introduced the "Genusskellerei" (a winery specializing in gourmet products), the "Giesinger Biermanufaktur" (a beer manufactory), the "Flötzinger Brauerei" (a brewery specializing in gourmet products), "Flori's Kaffeewagerl" (a coffee cart), and others. Of course, "Foodist" with their exciting and varied "Foodboxes," the "Herrmannsdorfer Landwerkstätten" (a regional workshop specializing in gourmet products), and "Loacker," known for their delicious waffles, are also represented. In addition, there's honey, cakes, cookies, chocolate, Italian delicacies, pasta, spices, pepper, and much, much more. It's best to take a look. here all exhibitors.

Tickets for FOOD & LIFE 2017 can be found on the website in the relevant section (Buy tickets hereA day ticket costs €13 (online purchase) and €15 (on-site purchase). Students, pensioners, and people with disabilities receive discounted admission. FOOD & LIFE 2017 also coincides with the Heim + Handwerk trade fair, a regional consumer and sales fair. So, if you're interested in building, interior design, and home improvement in addition to culinary delights, you'll likely enjoy exploring the entire exhibition area or even visiting both fairs. You certainly won't go hungry there.
