aquabook – The new handy water bottle for every bag. In a practical DIN A5 format. Flat. Compact and practical for on the go. aquabook is a Kickstarter project that was launched in October 2015 and is currently still in its crowdfunding phase (until November 11th). That's why I'd like to tell you a little more about it, because they're still actively raising funds. What exactly is aquabook?
A handy and reusable water bottle in DIN A5 format – ideal for any bag. It impresses with its unique design, ensures comfortable use, and represents sustainability. Once available, this practical drinking vessel will be offered with lids in various colors, allowing everyone to create their own personalized aquabook. Using a state-of-the-art UV digital printing process, the aquabook can be printed with a photo or name, making it a fantastic and personal gift or corporate giveaway.

How is the aquabook manufactured?
The aquabook water bottle is manufactured entirely in Germany from high-quality TRITAN® – a BPS- and BPA-free, recyclable plastic. This ensures that the aquabook is extremely durable despite its light weight. It can also be filled with hot beverages. High hygiene standards are maintained thanks to a special cleaning solution and the aquabrush and 100% biodegradable cleaning tablets developed specifically for the aquabook. All products are shipped carbon-neutrally. To further offset CO2 emissions, each aquabook shipment includes a packet of tree seeds, allowing the proud aquabook owner to further reduce their ecological footprint.

Who is the water bottle intended for?
Ideal for those who travel frequently and value sustainable consumption. Thanks to its practical A5 format, it fits perfectly into any laptop bag or university backpack and looks stylish even in the smallest handbag. This product is designed for smart, active people who want to make a difference through conscious consumption.
Who is behind this and why?
Felix Durst and David Ziegler, two young entrepreneurs from Munich, aim to counteract the ever-increasing global consumption of single-use bottles (101,000,300 metric tons) with their aquabook. They want to challenge the notion, propagated by the beverage industry, that bottled water tastes better or is even healthier than regular tap water. For example, 481,000 metric tons of the bottled water sold in the USA already comes from public water sources – in other words, tap water – and is sold at roughly 3,000 times the price. Furthermore, producing bottled water requires approximately 2,000 times more energy than producing tap water. Then the bottle ends up in the trash. A study by the United Nations Environment Programme revealed a grim result: around 801,000 metric tons of these discarded bottles end up in the oceans via rivers worldwide. aquabook demonstrates that there is a better, more environmentally friendly, and more sustainable way – with a reusable water bottle in an attractive design. A new motivation for environmentally conscious behavior.
