The newly opened restaurant "TALSTATION by Alperie" (or "TALSTATION" for short) is located on Hochbrückenstraße, between Marienplatz and Isartor. Inside, you'll find a relaxed and very cozy atmosphere, as well as a beautifully designed space divided into a restaurant area and a bar. The exceptionally attentive and warm team greets you like a friend as soon as you enter and describes themselves as "a place with a certain level of sophistication, but without excessive formality"—a sentiment reflected in the diverse menu and lovingly presented creations.
At the TALSTATION restaurant, open daily, you'll find a delicious breakfast and a changing selection of lunch dishes, as well as a deliberately concise dinner menu. This includes a small selection of starters – perfect for sharing – various meat dishes with flexible side dishes, and a few sweet treats to finish. The wine list is also intentionally small, but surprises with an extensive and well-curated selection. Appetizers, meat, and fish – everything is of the highest quality and prepared using locally sourced ingredients and products whenever possible. Vegetarians will also find plenty of options.

As part of the Mastercard culinary campaign, a fantastic four-course surprise menu awaits you, perfectly suited to December and the cold temperatures. For €59 per person, you can enjoy a creative four-course meal that offers a choice of meat, fish, or a completely vegetarian option. (Only continue reading if you don't want to be surprised during your restaurant visit and would like to know the menu in advance.)
Your evening of indulgence begins with a choice of appetizer, whereby Trout tartare with beetroot, fennel, trout caviar and horseradish or Market salad with horseradish, croutons, garden cress and sautéed wild mushrooms There were several options to choose from. We opted for both and found the crisp salad with the generous amount of wild mushrooms arranged around it particularly delicious. We were very impressed with how finely the trout was prepared in the tartare; I also thoroughly enjoyed the combination of fish and beetroot.
Next comes an extremely tasty Meadow hay soup with pumpernickel, purple potato chips and chive oil on your table. In my opinion, this is a great showcase for the TALSTATION restaurant, as the exceptional soup perfectly demonstrates how skillfully the kitchen team uses consistently high-quality and, wherever possible, entirely regional ingredients. The soup has a slightly sweet taste and gets a sophisticated touch from the oil and purple chips. In fact, the soup, along with the appetizer, was one of my menu favorites.
The meat option: Buttery soft venison ragout and saddle of deer as the main course.
For the main course, you also choose between meat or a vegetarian option. The former is incredibly tender. Saddle of venison and ragout of roe deer with pancetta pear, celery puree and pepper foam. My companion particularly enjoyed the dish, noting the tenderness of the meat. The vegetarian version surprised with its creamy texture. Chestnut red wine risotto with Amarone, Granny Smith apples and radicchio. Anyone who likes risotto will love this version, especially when you find not only the reddish-colored risotto from the Amarone on your spoon, but also the crunchy chestnuts.
Last but not least, you finish your surprise menu with a layered Baked apple cheesecake in a glass with quark, chocolate, almonds and caramel. This delightful spoonable dessert provides an understated yet creative end to your evening, its sweet, wintry flavor sure to build anticipation for the (pre-)Christmas season.
