Original Beans Today I'm going to tell you about one of the best chocolates I've ever eaten – and that's saying something, because I've tried a lot of different kinds. In this quick review, I'd like to introduce you to Original Beans chocolate.
The chocolates are made from the rarest and finest cocoa varieties on earth. For every Original Beans chocolate bar sold, a (traceable) tree is planted in the rainforest growing regions – hence the motto. „One tablet: One tree“ by Original Beans. Since 2008, over one million trees have been planted.
In the production of chocolate and cocoa, great care is taken to give back to nature what is taken from it. At the same time, the living conditions of local small-scale farmers are improved, resulting in one of the very best chocolates in the world: The Original Beans – Luxury Organic Chocolate.
In total there are eight different varieties. To celebrate Original Beans' fifth anniversary, four delicious new flavors were added to the range. Here's one. Overview of varieties, which are offered:
The four known varieties:
– „Beni Wild Harvest“ 66%: Wild cacao from the Bolivian Amazon (My favorite!)
– „Piura Porcelana“ 75%: white cocoa from the Peruvian Andes
– „Cru Virunga“ 70%: Cocoa from Eastern Congo
– „Esmeraldas Milk with Fleur de Sel“ 42 %: Arribakakao from the Pacific Rainforest
The four new varieties:
– „Femmes De Virunga“ 55%: A dark milk chocolate as an emancipation project for women in eastern Congo
– „Edel Weiss“ 40%: An additive-free white chocolate (My second favorite!)
– „Papua Kerafat“ 68%: Made from historic cocoa rediscovered in the rainforests of Papua (Indonesia).
– „Grand Cru Blend No. I“ 80%: Made from the rarest cocoas on earth
Each of these bars is made from exclusive and sustainably sourced cocoa beans. These are roasted in small batches and carefully conched on centuries-old Swiss machines. This preserves the authentic flavor nuances of the original cocoa. This means: Minimal ingredients, no additives like lecithin or vanilla. Simply pure and intense chocolate flavor and dazzling Cocoa fruit flavor. Simply delicious!
I've already tried every variety (except for the hard-to-find Papua Kerafat variety) and I love them all. Personally, I prefer the ones with a lower cocoa content. The Original Beans chocolates are the first ones I can actually suck on instead of biting. 🙂 Just a small piece of the thin bars. Place on the tongue, press against the roof of the mouth and wait. Mmm... The aroma of each individual variety unfolds so slowly in the mouth, and the chocolate tastes simply wonderful and much more intense than if you quickly gulp it down. 😉
My personal favorite is the Beni Wild Harvest variety with 66% cocoa content and wild cocoa from the Bolivian Amazon. So if you'd like to try a bar first, I recommend you try this one. For those who enjoy white chocolate Anyone who eats [a specific type of coffee] will be very well served by Edel Weiss. Original Beans, by the way, was selected from the most important and well-known [sources/companies]. Chocolate Awards (Academy of Chocolate, Great Taste, US Master of Chocolate, and International Chocolate Awards) has received awards worldwide and is loved by both organic consumers and international Michelin-starred chefs. For me personally, Original Beans is truly a very special chocolate. Even the packaging makes you want more and, with its 100% recyclable materials, where even the foil completely dissolves in the home compost – also for a good feeling towards the environment.
I believe that for festive occasions like Christmas, birthdays, and the like, the gift doesn't always have to be the most extravagant present at the entire celebration. So why not a... Gift pack containing four different bars (€16.99) as a gift. The A single bar costs between €3.99 and €4.69.. Sure, it's not exactly cheap, but the price is justified by the production methods, origin, and ingredients. If that's too much money, you can always look at the... Mini bar collection (four varieties for €4.99) Give someone a little treat. You can buy the bars. on-line or in delicatessen and gourmet food shops in Munich.
One thing I'm absolutely certain of: The Original Beans Chocolates You'll definitely love these if you like chocolate as much as I do, and you'll have fun finding your favorite. It's so easy to spend five euros these days. So why not treat yourself to something worthwhile that benefits your stomach, your soul, and the environment? Enjoy!.
