Cotidiano in Schwabing Schwabing has become even richer since the beginning of June this year. Since June 1st, in addition to the Cotidiano at Gärtnerplatz, you can now also visit the newly opened Cotidiano at Hohenzollernstraße 11 / corner of Wilhelmstraße and treat yourself to a culinary experience. In its tried-and-tested style, combined with fresh and new ideas, Cotidiano Schwabing offers everything your heart desires.

Cotidiano Schwabing is like a second living room, a haven of well-being, and a place to truly arrive, all in one. I've been there several times now and each time I've left delighted, satisfied, and content. The diverse menu, the ambiance of the restaurant, the competent and exceptionally attentive service, and the overall atmosphere have all impressed me on my visits. Just like the Cotidiano at Gärtnerplatz, the new Schwabing location – formerly Caffe Florian – invites you to enjoy a special breakfast, a relaxed get-together with friends, a meeting with colleagues, or simply to spend quality time together.

Caesar Salad

I felt right at home the moment I arrived. A convivial, cozy atmosphere with a small shop (offering coffee, wine, and other refreshments) and a cake counter in the entrance area was immediately appealing. Beyond this lies the dining area, divided into different sections. Light gray walls adorned with stylish black-and-white photographs – custom-made for Cotidiano – light parquet floors, high ceilings, wooden tables crafted from 200-year-old floorboards salvaged from a historic estate on Lake Tegernsee, subtle lighting throughout, and an open, expansive view across the entire space, including the bar at the back. It almost feels like being in a friend's cozy living room or at home. No wonder, since the interior design emphasizes the comfort and tradition of a country house with a touch of urban architecture.

What makes Cotidiano Schwabing so special? You can drop by any time of day and find something to suit your taste on the menu, which features numerous international classics. Of course, there's also an extensive drinks menu, stocked with coffee and tea specialties, homemade lemonades, a variety of spritzers, iced teas, and a wide selection of wines, beers, and much more. Breakfast lovers will adore Cotidiano. From Strammer Max (a traditional German open-faced sandwich) to Belgian, French, and even vegan breakfasts with homemade jams, fresh bread, and delicious spreads – no problem. The clear highlight: the Schwabing breakfast, prepared with ingredients from the Schwabing Elisabethmarkt (Elisabeth Market). This breakfast symbolically demonstrates that for Cotidiano and its owner, Dr. Theodor Ackbarow, incorporating local connections and a strong sense of community into the concept is paramount.

Vegetable Quiche

At lunchtime, they also offer delicious tarte flambée, quiches, soups, breads, salads, and a daily changing selection of dishes. Those with a sweet tooth are also catered for, with homemade tarts, cakes, and pastries available all day – there's truly something for everyone. I personally particularly like the "Order & Share" concept offered in the evenings. At Cotidiano, this means that specialties from around the world are presented in small bowls for you to sample. For a reasonable two to three euros per bite/tapas, you can try as many as you like and share them with your friends at the table – along with a good glass of wine, of course.

This is a comfortable place to sit.

As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. So click through my gallery to see some snapshots of dishes from Cotidiano in Schwabing. The cozy restaurant seats 110 people inside and 110 outside. It's open Monday to Thursday from 7:30 am to 11:00 pm, Friday and Saturday from 7:30 am to midnight, and Sundays and holidays from 7:30 am to 9:00 pm. If you want to be sure of getting a table, you should definitely reserve one – especially on weekends. Card payments are accepted. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, but it's manageable.

I personally highly recommend trying both the breakfast and the tarte flambée and tapas in the evening. Grab a friend or two and try them all. My absolute favorite is the pretzel croissant with goat cheese omelet for breakfast and the tarte flambée with salmon for lunch. In the evening, it's tapas – of course.
