Pizzeria La Spaghettata – Delivery service review via pizza.de | Italian My dear friends of great delivery services. I have some sad news for you. Today, unfortunately, is the last time for me to "open the front door – receive the food, devour it, and review it!" Why? Well, as they say, you should always quit while you're ahead. After all, I've spent almost the last few months... 40 delivery services I've checked everything and now want to focus on new projects. So, my series of reviews of delivery services comes to an end after this article.
Delivery service selection – Pizzeria La Spaghettata
My last food delivery service review was with a predominantly Italian provider, specifically "Pizzeria La Spaghettata." Their online menu is divided into appetizers and salads, pizzas, pasta, fish and meat dishes, as well as house specialties, rice dishes and Chinese dishes, plus side dishes, desserts, and drinks. They also offer baked potatoes with various fillings. With its Asian influence, it initially sounds like a "mixed bag." Nevertheless, I wanted to try the delivery service and browsed through the menu with my companion. After some browsing, we decided to place an order and made our selections.

My companion opted for grilled beef sirloin for €9.90, including a choice of side dish (farfalle, penne, fries, rice, rigatoni, spaghetti, or tagliatelle). Quite a bargain, right? That piqued our interest. Since my companion assumed there could only be a very small portion of meat for that price, he ordered a double portion. I had to laugh about it when he ordered, and even more so when the two large portions of meat and two enormous bowls of rice arrived in front of us. 😉 But let's move on. I decided – very ladylike – on a mixed salad for €3.90 and a scampi risotto for €9.90. Just to "nibble on the side," we also ordered a vegetable platter (€5.90). Since my companion – I'm innocent, of course! – still thought, "There's still room for more," we ordered a spring roll for €2.90. And since this was supposed to be my last pizza.de or Lieferheld order, I finished off properly with a tub of Häagen-Dazs "Strawberry Cheesecake" (500 ml for €7). So, I had ordered for just under €50 and now it was a matter of waiting for the order to arrive.

About 40-45 minutes later, the food arrived at the door. A friendly man handed it to us, we gave him the tip, and off we went. So…where do I begin? The spring roll was good. 😉 The portion of beef I ordered for my companion was okay for the price. Unfortunately, it was far too dry and only palatable with the rice. That was a bit of a shame, because if it had been cooked properly, the dish wouldn't have been bad at all and would definitely have been recommendable. Oh well…unfortunately, that was the case with both portions, but my companion still finished it. I turned my attention to my "risotto." I have to put that in quotation marks, because my risotto was made with exactly the same rice as my companion's side dish. My companion's rice was just a little more tomatoey in flavor; otherwise, it was the same base as the side dish. Also a shame. I knew, of course, that I wasn't going to get a high-end risotto like in Italy, but basically I ate rice with a few shrimp. The mixed salad was fine and fresh – no complaints there. The dish labeled "vegetable platter" was actually baked vegetables with cheese. We didn't even manage a quarter of it and put the rest in the fridge. As is so often the case with pre-cooked food – it tastes even better the next day, so I enjoyed the otherwise very fresh and well-blended vegetables as a main course the following day. I only tried a few small spoonfuls of my ice cream and am already looking forward to the rest of the portion one of the coming evenings.

Personal conclusion
All in all, the delivery was unfortunately unsatisfactory, no matter how friendly the gentleman at the door was, and no matter how reasonable the price-to-quantity ratio would have been in principle. Perhaps – since the quality itself was fine – the delivery service Pizzeria La Spaghettata could be given another chance with the meat, but I definitely wouldn't order the risotto again. Incidentally, the ice cream at €7 for 500ml is even cheaper, or the same price as in most supermarkets. Since I've tested relatively few Italian (and more Asian) delivery services in recent months, I can't really make any good comparisons regarding meat quality for home delivery, but – comparison or not – the meat was too dry. The delivery itself was within an acceptable timeframe, and the packaging and presentation were also fine.
Hard facts
The delivery service delivers from Monday to Friday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 10:30 PM. On weekends, delivery is available continuously from 11:00 AM to 10:30 PM.
