chokoin – The Chocolate Gallery | Buy high-quality chocolate in Munich We all know "chocolate makes you happy," and it's certainly not unhealthy in its original form. I've been interested in and exploring the topic of chocolate for quite some time now. This was also the case when I recently read about "„Combining chocolate with wine“As I reported previously, I took another look at the variety of chocolate that is produced and sold. An incredibly wide range is offered, though not all of it is of good quality, that's clear. My awareness of particularly good chocolate was broadened during my recent visit to the Schwabing chocolate gallery "chokoin" (pronounced "choco in") at Elisabethplatz. The small gallery beckoned to me from the outside, so I went inside and entered a wonderfully seductive world.

The chocolate gallery chokoin stands for the finest international chocolate of the highest quality, produced in small, diverse workshops. They offer a wide range of pralines, chocolates, gift-wrapped items, cookies, and much more. My goal was to find some delicious chocolate Easter gifts – ideally with a personal touch – to give as presents.

Upon entering the gallery, my first impressions were: white, colorful, and sweet. "White" in the form of a friendly and bright atmosphere, complete with high ceilings, stucco work, and plenty of natural light streaming through the fully glazed facade into the small chocolate gallery. "Colorful" because brightly wrapped chocolates, pralines, gifts, and other treats were displayed everywhere. As a chocolate lover, it was impossible not to feel comfortable! Browsing here increasingly fueled my desire for chocolate—at least, that's how it was for me. A bit like being a little kid in a candy store.

A closer look at the shelves at chokoin quickly reveals that only the very best is offered here. So I was in the right place for my gift search. I soon struck up a conversation with the friendly owner, Kerstin Weise, and learned more about the selection and, in particular, chokoin's own product line. They offer printed square chocolate bars and pralines in a wide variety of flavors, types, and designs. At chokoin, you can have custom photo or logo chocolate bars printed, whether for business or personal occasions. Perfect for me, and the quality was exactly what I was looking for. Chokoin chocolate is lovingly handcrafted by their chocolatiers, characterized by a fine and delicate melt, and boasts an intense flavor that makes it instantly recognizable. Artificial flavorings, in my opinion, have no place in high-quality chocolate and are, of course, not present in any of the 15 different flavors (for example, Milk Chocolate (38%), Dark Chocolate (71%), Almond Milk Chocolate, Milk Chocolate with Sea Salt, Chili Dark Chocolate, Ginger Dark Chocolate, Mixed Nuts, or Pistachio Dark Chocolate) used for the bars. I opted for this option and learned that all I needed to do was provide my logo in color, order at least 50 bars (at €5.50 each), and approve the artwork before printing. Then, a few days later, I received my personalized chocolate bars with an "edible logo" without having to do anything else. Cool, right?

I briefly considered choosing the pralines, also from chokoin's own product line, instead of the chocolate bars. These can also be individually ordered and printed with a logo, or even a photo or design. Generally, pralines—at least in my experience—don't last very long, but it would be hard to find a more eye-catching chocolate gift than personalized pralines and/or chocolate bars. I was absolutely thrilled, but I saved the idea of photo/logo/design pralines for next time and opted for the bars. Chokoin produces pralines starting at 100 pieces (at €1.50 each) per variety, which wasn't quite what I was looking for. The variety of types and options for the pralines is also impressive. Events at chokoin for up to 25 people

Because I wasn't in too much of a hurry, I opted for a hot chocolate and an espresso (chokoin's own roast) along with a chocolate tasting – presented in printed form (I tasted: absinthe, ginger, pistachio | tonka bean and blood orange | port wine and fig) – and a short chat on the spot. Firstly, because it was a pleasant place to sit and the chocolates were simply too tempting, and secondly, because I was interested in the option of renting the chocolate shop for a small business event. While you can rent many venues in Munich, chokoin, with its size, is ideal for events with up to 25 people, so not too large groups or occasions. So, if you're also looking for the perfect location with a "chocolatey" view (the event doesn't necessarily have to have a "chocolate theme"), then get in touch with chokoin. There you can also individually agree on what should be provided and within what financial framework the booking is.

The gallery is open Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and on Saturdays until 2:00 PM. Card payments are accepted. You can purchase individual chocolates from the counter, as well as boxes of chocolates and other treats tailored to specific occasions and seasons. There are also numerous different chocolate bars from other manufacturers (for example, Original Beans, Confiserie Berger from Austria, Chocqlate, etc.), and even custom chocolate sculptures, gifts, cookies, and more. Right now, around Easter, for example, there are tons of chocolate-themed Easter ideas, and there's sure to be something for every gourmet and chocolate lover. So, if you're looking for high-quality, perhaps rare, and hard-to-find chocolate (…for example, I once searched for ages for a specific type and finally found it here…), then think of Chokoin. Chokoin's product range also includes Amedei and Domori – both available on-site. Whether you're looking for a smaller venue or unique gifts, chokoin is the perfect solution!
