March 2018: WEINMAHLEINS at the Hoiz Neo-Brasserie

New name, same concept: Starting in March, the gastronomic event series that launched in January will continue under the name "WEINMAHLEINS" and invites guests to dine once again. More precisely, once a month, Munich's finest restaurants will host a multi-course menu with premium wine pairings, water, and coffee. On March 23, 2018, the series enters its third round, with chefs, winemakers, and guests gathering in a relaxed and intimate atmosphere at the neo-brasserie Hoiz. As with the first two events, the two winemakers will provide informative, entertaining, and professional commentary throughout the evening, sharing details about their wines and answering any questions.

A special four-course menu will be served this evening (for €99 including wine, water, and coffee). The meal begins with vintage sardines, sourdough bread, radishes, citrus, crème fraîche, and fennel. The second course, "Red Roasted Pork," with physalis and tomatillo chutney, coriander, and teriyaki sauce, is sure to make your mouth water, while true steak lovers will be in for a treat with the following main course and third course (flank steak from Bavarian beef with confit Grenaille potato, grilled Romanesco, vanilla onion, and hollandaise sauce). The evening concludes with a trio of "truffled Brie de Normandie, Pain d'Epice, and apricot.".

There's also something exciting happening in the glass. For the first time during the "WINEMAHLEINS" event series, two winemakers will be present on one evening, each pouring two wines per course – a fantastic opportunity to discover and savor the different facets of wines paired with various dishes. Fascinating insights – both verbal and liquid – will be provided by Manfred Rothe (Rothe Winery in Nordheim am Main) and Rainer Müller (Max Müller I Winery on the Main River bend in Franconia). Both are renowned winemakers and wine experts in the industry and will moderate the evening of March 23rd, accompanying the courses. The focus will be on orange and amphora wines, which are setting new trends in the wine world in both a purist and captivating way. A must for every connoisseur and those eager to discover something new.

The Hoiz Neo-Brasserie

The Hoiz Neo-Brasserie
As hosts of the evening, the Maxvorstadt neo-brasserie Hoiz presents itself, its expertly curated menu, and its accompanying wines. The brasserie impresses not only with its cuisine but also with its ambiance. The rustic yet elegant French charm, the unique interior, and the abundance of "Hoiz" (wood) on the walls create an inviting and cozy atmosphere. This refined approach is evident in countless small details, including the menu, which is presented to guests bound in antique-style books. In this harmonious setting, diners can choose from a selection of Mediterranean, Bavarian, and French dishes.
