Conti Restaurant – finally enjoying culinary events again! | With its first major event and gourmet evening, "A Journey to the South of France," on the evening of July 23, 2021, the popular Conti Restaurant heralded the revival of its events and associated culinary highlights. Themed evenings, tasting menus with renowned wine partners, live music, and more can now happily be expected regularly as Conti guests. As an enthusiastic fan of this centrally located restaurant, I naturally didn't want to miss this very special premiere and enjoyed five delicious courses accompanied by French wines from Geisel's wine gallery.

Looking back: A trip to the South of France with the Conti restaurant
How I've missed spending my evenings regularly on restaurant terraces with a good glass of wine and wonderful courses. Add to that pleasant company, delicious food, and a relaxed, cheerful atmosphere – for me, that's pure bliss. This became truly clear to me again when my companion and I were poured the delicious Crémant de Loire (from Domaine Baumard), served with a tarte flambée with oysters as a starter, and the first Conti event of 2021 began. It was the start of a truly wonderful gourmet evening at the Conti Restaurant.

The evening's theme transported guests to the summery and beautiful landscapes of France. Jürgen Weingarten and the kitchen team led by Piotr Henek guided them to the warm, sunny south of France with their masterful menu, allowing their guests to skillfully enjoy French-inspired highlights in the heart of Munich. The corresponding wines were poured with each course and presented and discussed by Monsieur Gérald Desmousseaux, sommelier of the renowned Geisels Wine Gallery. The inviting Conti terrace was attractively and beautifully decorated, creating the perfect summer atmosphere, and the tables were set with impeccable elegance – a truly perfect summer evening. Ratatouille Terrine „Provence“ & Ravioli with Olive Filling
All guests were personally greeted and shown to their tables. After the oyster was served, the first course arrived: Ratatouille Terrine "Provence" and olive-filled ravioli, accompanied by a glass of 2020 Luberon Rosé in a magnum (Perrin & Fils). Course two was my personal favorite: bouillabaisse with a rouille crust and a 2018 Viognier "Les Contours de Deponcins" (Francois Villard). So delicious, and in my opinion, a perfect pairing in the glass. Between courses, you were given plenty of time to chat and soak up the atmosphere. For the main course, course three, guests could choose from two options. We opted for coq au vin, boneless chicken cooked in red wine, and for the rack of lamb with a Dijon mustard crust, tomatoes, and spinach quiche. The poultry was accompanied by a very robust and flavorful 2019 Côte du Rhône Village Rouge "A Fleur de Pampre" (Domaine La Florane), and the lamb by a Vacqueyras (2019, Domaine de la La Boussiere). Before the soft cheese with fig (course number five), there was a lavender Tarte Tatin with a wonderfully harmonious Muscat de Beaumes de Venise (2018, Domaine des Bernardins).

The set menu, including wine pairings, cost €79 per person. What I really appreciate is that I've never once eaten a "standard" meal at Conti. In other words, you'll never be served anything here that you'll also find on countless other menus in the city. The creations are always special, combining components and products in ways you might never have experienced before. For me, this has been one of the restaurant's most outstanding advantages since my first visit to Conti.

What you can expect at the Conti Restaurant in the future
The next highlight at the Conti Restaurant takes place on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, starting at 6 p.m. Enjoy live music as part of the "Jazz After-Work" series with the Haberjazzband, along with culinary delights from the Conti Restaurant's kitchen and cellar – simply order à la carte. Jazz evenings will also be held on Wednesdays, September 15, October 6, November 10, and December 1, 2021.

In addition, every Wednesday to Saturday from 5 pm there is a regularly changing Nature Taste menu, which is presented course by course including appetizing photos on the website and the Instagram channel of the Conti Restaurant.
Also from Wednesday to Saturday, the popular "3 for 33" offer is served starting at 5 pm. This means you get a 3-course meal including Cretan Feast olive oil, bread, and sea salt for 33 euros. The courses change regularly, of course – vegetarian options are also available, as with the aforementioned Nature Taste menu.
