The exclusive surprise menu in October 2025
In October 2025, a very special experience awaits you at the Nymphenburger Hof. Restaurant owner Andreas Derler and his kitchen team have created an exclusive 5-course menu – bookable only for Mastercard cardholders. Even the small and regularly changing amuse-bouche at the beginning – smoked trout with cucumber – is a delicious preview of the evening, whetting your appetite for more. As a special treat, an aperitif – on our visit, a homemade peach punch – is served on the house, a sparkling start to an unforgettable evening.
Then the meal began, with the option of individual wine pairings (for €45 per person). I highly recommend tasting the perfectly matched wines and booking the menu with wine pairings. The first course was a wonderfully tender pink veal rump, attractively presented with aromatic sun-dried tomatoes and a fresh salad. This was followed by a flavorful and spicy scampi hash – one of the restaurant's signature dishes and also my companion's favorite. The hash is expertly seasoned, and its creamy, fruity notes and crisp vegetables instantly evoke a holiday feeling on your palate.
Monkfish on creamy, velvety porcini mushroom risotto with spinach
For the main course, a magnificent monkfish on creamy, velvety porcini risotto with spinach – incidentally, my favorite of the evening – awaits, before meat lovers are treated to aromatic braised Iberico pork cheeks with delicately seasoned celery root purée. For a sweet finale, fluffy plum dumplings with stewed vegetables and a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream await you – a dessert that evokes childhood memories and simply makes you happy. When was the last time you ate plum dumplings?
The menu costs €95 per person without wine pairing or €140 with wine pairing – the latter being my recommendation, as Mr. Derler himself recommends, discusses, and pours the wines at the table. In our opinion, the wines enhanced the menu even further.

In my opinion, the Nymphenburger Hof deserves far more attention, especially from younger diners, as the restaurant skillfully demonstrates the immense value that traditional and long-established restaurants should hold in Munich.
