Time out in the „The Aunhamer Suite & Spa Hotel“ in Bad Griesbach in Lower Bavaria || Together with my companion, I was able to treat myself to a short break in the 4-star „Das Aunhamer Suite & Spa Hotel“. Located in beautiful Lower Bavaria, „Das Aunhamer“ offers the perfect setting for a relaxing break.
Spa open until midnight with heated indoor and outdoor pools – the only hotel in Bavaria to offer this; modern rooms in various sizes; a relaxed and cozy atmosphere; good cuisine and plenty of add-ons to ensure you can focus on what matters most: enjoyment, relaxation and rejuvenation.

The Aunhamer Suite & Spa Hotel in Bad Griesbach, Lower Bavaria
For my companion and me, our stay at the "Das Aunhamer Suite & Spa Hotel" was a first. Located just under two hours from Munich, this hotel is ideal if you're looking for peace and quiet – whether alone, as a couple, with friends for sports or a culinary adventure – if you love nature and are looking for a hotel perfectly tailored to the needs and desires of adults. In a relaxed and informal atmosphere, you can enjoy modern lifestyle, warm hospitality, excellent cuisine, and simply a relaxing break from everyday life.
This Lower Bavarian spa hotel offers the perfect room for every occasion, from cozy cuddle rooms (20 m²) and modern double rooms (30 m²) to spacious suites and superior suites (40 m²; with or without a balcony). Warm colors, plenty of wood, and a welcoming ambiance were key features in the room design. We felt right at home as soon as we entered our comfortable suite. However, we didn't linger long, as we immediately slipped into our bathrobes and headed to the "Wild Mallow Spa" area, which spans over 1,000 m².
Time for peace and relaxation in the wellness area
A heated indoor pool, three relaxation rooms, a stone bath, a bio-sauna and a Finnish sauna, a private spa, and various treatment rooms, along with a spa bistro and fitness room, await you on site. The outdoor pool, ideal for swimming, is also heated and surrounded by seating areas and a sunbathing lawn. The absolute highlight: the pools are open from morning until midnight, and with a pleasant water temperature of 35 degrees Celsius, there's nothing stopping you from enjoying a cocktail in the heated outdoor pool late into the evening or taking a leisurely dip.
After sweating and swimming, we went to the relaxation room to unwind. Following a short walk (…alternatively, you can rent e-bikes or book a treatment at the spa…), we went to the bar for a drink and a quick game of pool. Afterwards, we retired to our room – our stomachs were rumbling and we were looking forward to dinner.
You can choose from the evening buffet or order à la carte from the autumn menu.
Culinary delights & enjoyment
During your stay at the "Das Aunhamer Suite & Spa Hotel" you can look forward to regional-modern soul food in the hotel's own restaurant. Restaurant „Francesca“ We look forward to welcoming you. As part of your booking (with half board), you will be offered hot meals via evening buffet and à la carte creations between 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm.
Breakfast is served daily between 7:00 and 10:30 a.m., and you can help yourself to a generous and delicious buffet. An additional menu with egg dishes (Eggs Benedict, omelette, fried eggs) is available at your table. Besides fresh pastries, muesli, fruit, cheese, cold cuts, and more, there's also pizza, warm meatloaf, sausages, and bacon. Delicious!
Between 12 and 18 o'clock you can also get sweets, fresh cakes and snacks as well as delicious drinks, cocktails, wines and coffee drinks at the bar/café "Francesca" (directly opposite the hotel's open-plan reception).
During our stay, we sampled some delicacies from the daily changing evening buffet – each evening offering a variety of appetizers, main courses, and desserts from which you can freely choose – as well as from the à la carte menu. The current autumn menu is brand new and is divided into dishes for light meals or larger appetites, à la carte creations, and paired aperitifs. We started with a Lava Belle Spritz and a Cosmopolitan, which we enjoyed with our buffet starters – in our case, an autumnal pumpkin soup and goat cheese with beetroot.

There is always an extensive salad bar, soups, vegetarian appetizers, and meat/fish/vegetarian dishes for the main course. We chose from the autumn menu and opted for the excellent Wiener Schnitzel with potato salad and lingonberries, as well as the beautifully presented and paper-thin sliced carpaccio of Griesbach pasture-raised beef with dried king oyster mushrooms. We ordered the house wine recommendation for the meat (red) and fish (white) – a "Centurio Minor Primitivo" from Apulia and the Aunhamer house wine from the Signature Collection "Sunshine in a Bottle.".
The sweet finale was a mini yeast dumpling with vanilla sauce, followed by an à la carte "Dark Lava Cake." As delicious as it all was, be sure to leave room for at least one drink, because after dinner the pool, open until midnight, awaits you. Ever tried a Caipirinha under the stars? 🙂

My personal highlights & conclusion
Besides the exceptional friendliness of the entire Aunhamer team, I especially loved the delicious food, the heated outdoor pool, and the peace and quiet. 🙂 What could be better than some quality time – alone or as a couple – in a perfectly relaxing setting? The rooms are very attractive and welcoming. Everything is clean and modern, and the staff is attentive. You can also enjoy the Lower Bavarian countryside and its local produce in the form of delicious dishes and treats. My companion and I were definitely in agreement after our short trip: we'll be back! You're welcome to bring your dogs, and your casually chic clothes are perfectly appropriate for the Aunhamer. I'm sure you'll have a great time. Don't forget your swimwear!
