Two-Michelin-starred chef Bobby Bräuer, who usually delights us with his amazing creations at the two-Michelin-starred restaurant EssZimmer by Käfer in BMW Welt, is now bringing Michelin-starred cuisine directly to your home. Specifically: You can order a menu specially prepared for you. „Bobby to Go Bon Appétit“ menu boxes“ Order it and have it delivered to your door. The box contains four courses for at least two people, which you can prepare and plate at home – with instructions included. Two Michelin stars at your own dining table – where else can you find that? I tried it!

The menu – Bobby to Go Bon Appétit

The menu is pre-set and you can order it every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Delivery within Munich city limits takes place on Fridays between 4 pm and 6 pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays between 11 am and 1 pm. Of course, you can also pick up your box in person at the Bavaria section inside BMW Welt during the same times.

Michelin-starred meal at my own dining table – just the way I like it

My personal experience

You know I'm not the worst cook, but I'm not the best either (…that's what Bobby's for ;-)…), and yet I was especially pleased to be in my own kitchen preparing everything. It's doable, even if you're not super well-equipped or if Michelin-starred cuisine isn't usually part of your personal cooking skillset. 😉 Of course, a Michelin-starred meal or restaurant visit isn't just about the delicious food on the plate, but also about the ambiance and atmosphere – and yet, as soon as you take a look inside the beautifully packaged box, your mouth will water, just like mine did. Everything is attractively and individually wrapped; small jars and boxes protect each course and every beautifully arranged component. Included is an easy-to-understand instruction booklet that explains step by step, course by course, how to plate the menu. Don't panic, it's easy to do.

My favorite, and very easy to prepare thanks to the instructions.

I kept preparing, plating, and eating because, unfortunately, I didn't have a kitchen assistant to clear the empty plates and set out new ones. 😉 All in all, I enjoyed about two hours of culinary delights. I've often enjoyed restaurant food at my own dining table, even before the lockdown, but I'd never experienced the Michelin-starred cuisine of Bobby Bräuer, which isn't usually available for takeout. A fantastic experience.

My favorite was the first course – see above – followed by the main course, which arrives vacuum-packed and only needs a few minutes in a water bath. Every ingredient and every course of the "Bobby To Go Bon Appétit" menu box tasted excellent and very fresh, and I would be lying if I said it didn't significantly increase my anticipation of eating at EssZimmer by Käfer again.
