Lobby Party | New Year's Eve 2015: Every year, the same crucial question arises at the end of the year: What are we doing for New Year's Eve? Of course: Celebrate! But where? Anyone who knows me knows that New Year's Eve isn't exactly a day I eagerly anticipate. Nevertheless, I do want to spend the transition into the new year in a pleasant atmosphere, with good drinks, tasty snacks, and in a way that ensures a smooth start to the new year. I was looking for just such an opportunity and found something appealing right away. Regular readers know the drill: I was also recently announced... Advent brunch Since I had dealings with the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski, I naturally wanted to find out what was planned for New Year's Eve. As I now know: program The Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski offers a lot for the evening of December 31, 2015 – but one offer I found particularly interesting: the lobby party with the theme „Swing & Soul“ starting at 10:00 pm.

Here again the question: What can you expect? I also want to encourage you to come and see for yourselves, because I'm pretty sure it'll be fantastic. For example, you can expect the "longest bar on Maximilianstrasse." That means the check-in area of the lobby will be transformed into a bar for drinks, relaxed get-togethers, and celebrations. Anyone who imagines a dreary gathering in a cold hotel lobby for New Year's Eve is sorely mistaken: a real party is on the agenda. With great music, disco-style party lighting, midnight snacks in the form of a tempting menu featuring things like currywurst, homemade goulash, an extensive cheese selection, and much more – and, of course, plenty of good vibes. I thought the idea of one of Munich's most sought-after luxury hotels in a prime location transforming its lobby into an exciting and vibrant party venue for New Year's Eve was pretty brilliant.

The lobby party starts at 10:00 PM as mentioned. Beforehand, you can, for example, choose from one of the offered options. 7-course Champagne Menus at the Schwarzreiter restaurant (the restaurant of the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski – I read about it here (as reported) can be booked, or you can also dine à la carte in the daytime bar area. I'd like to say a few words about that. The Schwarzreiter is legendary. I've eaten there twice myself and have sent numerous friends there – always satisfied. And if you want to start your New Year's Eve with an excellent multi-course meal before attending the lobby party, then the Schwarzreiter is the perfect place for you. That's all I can say about that, and I assure you, you can't go wrong. After dinner, or if you're coming from another event but want to ring in the new year in a fantastic atmosphere: Definitely go to the lobby party! I'll certainly be there. If only because the atmosphere of the hotel lobby during the "normal" year is absolutely captivating. A huge, meter-high dome, which depicts the four seasons in glass art – perfectly suited to the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski Munich – immediately envelops you in a pleasant feeling thanks to its wonderful flair and superb atmosphere.

Swing & Soul for a good mood

At midnight, there will of course be champagne for a toast, a welcome glass as well, and, as mentioned, a small selection of dishes available throughout the evening, which can be ordered until the end of the party. The evening costs €79 per person, including the welcome champagne and midnight snack. DJ Petko, who has already created a legendary atmosphere at P1 with several performances, will be providing the aforementioned great music. He will be joined on this evening by a talented saxophonist. The atmosphere will be relaxed and perfect for celebrating and having fun. In this case, you can be sure: the party will be in full swing in the Kempinski lobby, and nothing will stand in the way of a wonderful New Year's Eve celebration. There will also be fireworks, which you can admire in the night sky from Maximilianstrasse together with the other guests (and me ;-)).

If you're out and about on Maximilianstrasse or nearby in the coming days, take a look at the lobby. You'll be amazed – both by the dome and by the large lobby hall, which is usually filled with Munich guests enjoying coffee and cake. On New Year's Eve, of course, it will be cleared out, offering plenty of space for celebrations. You'll also see the "long bar," behind which numerous staff members are currently welcoming hotel guests. On New Year's Eve, the motto here is: dancing, celebrating, chatting, and drinking are not only allowed, but encouraged – it's sure to be an unforgettable evening. When does the New Year's party end? – No set end, of course. I'm looking forward to spending my New Year's Eve a little differently this year. Of course, good food is a must, but so is a wonderful transition into 2016. That will definitely be possible at the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski with their lobby party. Oh yes…despite the more lively atmosphere than you might expect, considering it's the ***** Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski, you should dress a bit more formally – festive evening attire is requested. Perhaps we'll see each other there. A glass of champagne is on me. 😉
