Smart Aging | Eat smart. Move naturally. Stay young. All around. – Book presentation – You can't start too early, and when I realize that I'm also rapidly approaching 40 (…I just turned 31 ;-)…), there's no stopping me from reading books like the one I'm presenting to you today. It's called "Smart Aging" (by author and nutritionist Marion Grillparzer) and deals precisely with what the title suggests: growing old, but smartly. We can't avoid the former anyway, and no matter what creams and beauty miracles we indulge in – we'll still get older. But the author of this book proves that this can also be done with enjoyment and a healthy awareness.
Why did I get it and tell you about it? The book refreshingly demonstrates that there's actually not much to it when it comes to going through life happy and with a positive body image. "Eating smart," along with "Natural Movement" and "Staying Young," is the topic that resonated with me most, or rather, the one I'm most familiar with. Marion Grillparzer describes in her new book, "Smart Aging," how it's the "complete package" that needs to be right to live a balanced, happy, and healthy life (and age gracefully). The unique blend of all these topics across more than 220 pages makes this book truly special.
In this book, the author reveals her very personal "fountain of youth science" and demonstrates how it works with her unique credo ("Eat like they did a hundred years ago, with the knowledge of tomorrow."). The book contains over 150 healthy recipes from around the world. But don't worry, this isn't just a cookbook. It also offers tips on getting enough exercise and cultivating the right mindset (…it all starts in the mind…). Specifically, it includes 75 tips for a good life, as well as Grillparzer's own grandmother's wisdom for "eternal youth," and much more. While browsing, I particularly enjoyed the illustrations with their mouthwatering and beautiful photos, the variety of topics, and the combination of food, exercise, lifestyle tips, and more. Even as someone who is still relatively young (considering the book's title and the topic of "aging"), it piqued my interest. I don't cook much, as you all know, but these recipes even make me want to roll up my sleeves and get started.
Anyone who enjoys self-reflection in a healthy way and wants to use the topics mentioned above in a healthy way will likely enjoy the book "Smart Aging". Here are a few more impressions:
