Sushi Plus | Delivery Service Review – As announced, my delivery service review series continues with a different provider. For this, I have pizza.de Pizza.de doesn't just deliver pizza, as the name might suggest, but pretty much anything you could possibly want: sushi, Japanese dishes, burgers, Thai food, pasta, risotto, pizza, schnitzel, fish, meat, cupcakes, donuts, cakes, beer, spirits, and much, much more. So, if you're planning a lazy day, a cozy evening, a Sunday off from cooking, or something similar, you should definitely check them out!

Pizza.de – The platform and how to use it

The platform is very easy to use. You can create your personal profile in just two minutes and enter your delivery address. Every time you log in to Pizza.de (or are already logged in), you simply enter your postal code or click on the corresponding field, and your delivery address will be displayed automatically. Of course, you can also enter a new delivery address if you prefer. After entering your information or logging in, all delivery services within your delivery area will be suggested. Your profile is continuously displayed in the right-hand column, where you can make changes at any time. I find the live tracking function particularly cool, as it allows you to see the exact location of your delivery driver with your food, down to the meter and minute. No more waiting at the window! :-).

After selecting your delivery service – which can also be sorted by category – the process continues just as simply. You decide what you're in the mood for and browse through the wide variety of dishes. The selected items are then added to your shopping cart, and during the ordering process, your total order value is displayed on the right. If the minimum order value hasn't been reached, this will be indicated in a small box below the total. Once you've added enough items – the minimum varies depending on the delivery service – simply click "Order for €xy" and you're good to go. Choose your payment method (PayPal, giropay, Mastercard, Visa, cash) and wait until your screen displays a confirmation message that the order has been submitted. I did the same and chose sushi for my first order.

Sushi Plus – Selection and Review of Dishes

I don't know if you feel the same way, but I always seem to crave sushi. Since I already know so many restaurants and delivery services, it was time for something new. After browsing through the different providers and reading the informative reviews, I decided on Sushi Plus. Sushi Plus has almost a full 5 stars in its ratings and a compelling online offer.

Together with my companion, I opted for different sushi options, main courses, and appetizers. We each chose two nigiri tuna and two nigiri salmon (for €2.60 and €2.10 respectively), one edamame (for €2.50), and one miso soup (for €2.50) as starters. For my main course, I had the kitsune udon noodles with tofu, beans, and broccoli (for €8.80), as well as avocado and cream cheese maki (for €3.50). My companion ordered one rice with curry and one with sukiyaki don (for €10.50 each). For dessert, we had mochi-ja with coconut and mango (for €1.50) and a Coke Zero (0.5l for €1.35). When ordering, you can optionally add additional notes, for example, if you don't want your food spicy. However, we didn't have any special requests and simply had to wait. It was a little difficult to estimate how long the delivery would take, as we weren't given any approximate time. About 45 minutes later, it finally arrived: our food came.

The sushi was neatly rolled, prepared with fresh ingredients, and tasted delicious. The nigiri with salmon and tuna were also freshly made for me. Combined with the warm edamame and a couple of spoonfuls of miso soup from my companion, it was a perfect start. Miso soup is known for its slightly strong smell, but I really enjoyed it after the first spoonful. The udon noodle dish was a bit dry. There was no sauce, so I kept dipping the noodles in the soy sauce from my sushi. I love udon noodles, especially since they're not readily available everywhere in Munich, so I always choose them when they're on the menu. Overall, the dish with the sweet tofu was delicious, but it could have used a little more liquid. The rice dishes, on the other hand, were very good. The beef in the sukiyaki don was tender, plentiful, and fresh, and the curry—also served with basmati rice—had a good flavor with a mild spiciness. What I was most looking forward to, however, was my dessert. Japanese restaurants often offer freshly made mochi – a classic Japanese dessert in the form of a rice cake, slightly sweet and available in various flavors. Mine was made with coconut and mango and tasted almost exactly as expected. While not quite as fresh as I'd hoped, it tasted just like mochi should. So, if you haven't tried this dessert yet, you can confidently give it a go here at Sushi Plus.

Hard facts

In total, we paid a little over €50 for our meal. There was nothing to complain about, apart from the points mentioned above, and I would order again anytime. Your food orders are taken Monday to Friday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 10:30 PM, as well as on weekends and holidays from 5:00 PM to 10:30 PM. If you enjoy sushi, you should definitely try Sushi Plus. I'm sure you'll be satisfied. I can also recommend ordering through Pizza.de. I especially like the huge selection of restaurants offered on the platform. Thumbs up!.
