Vitamin D milk from Weihenstephan for an extra dose of happiness For me personally, there are few things that affect my mood as much as gray weather, short days, and low temperatures. Not a ray of sunshine in sight makes for a rather bumpy start to the day, unlike when the sun shines on my face first thing in the morning. We all know that "sunshine equals vitamin D"; but too few people know that we can and should also get enough of it ourselves. The brand-new [product name] can help with that. „Vitamin D milk“ from the Weihenstephan dairy. They've recently become available in retail stores throughout southern Germany, and I immediately bought some, because: Why not feel better with a glass of fresh milk?
The new Weihenstephan Vitamin D milk
You read my posts regularly? – Great! Then you know that I'm a big fan of milk – whether pure, processed, or in the form of dairy products. From milk tastings conducted, about those who had been fed Weihenstephan Barista Milk, all the way to delicious Weihenstephan yogurts and quark, I've tried a lot of things already. So the new Weihenstephan Vitamin D milk actually piqued my interest even before I opened the package: Why Vitamin D milk, and what's behind it and what's in it?
The new milk has 3.51 g of fat and contains 1.3 micrograms of vitamin D per 100 milliliters. Drinking a quarter liter of this vitamin D milk covers 65 percent of your daily requirement, or nutrient reference value. This is the value for the amount of vitamin D you should consume daily through food. The vitamin D is added during the production and processing of the high-quality Weihenstephan fresh milk. This ensures that, in addition to the vitamin D, the fresh milk taste and nutrients are optimally preserved. It tastes delicious cold, warm, or even in other beverages.
My test of the vitamin D milk from Weihenstephan
As explained in detail, I love milk. Hardly a day goes by that I don't start with a frothy latte macchiato in the morning; interrupt at lunchtime with a short break and a cappuccino; or end in the evening without a hot chocolate on my sofa.
Milk always puts me in a good mood – for me personally, almost always warmed. Since vitamin D milk can be heated without any problems and without losing its vitamin D content, I treated myself to a whole vitamin D day dedicated to milk. In the morning, a small cappuccino with fresh milk (…although I now prefer to make it with Weihenstephan Barista milk…) and in the evening, a nice hot chocolate on my sofa while watching a movie. Or what do you think? – There's nothing better than ending a cold and gray day at home with cozy lighting, a warm blanket, and fluffy socks, right? Add a "vitamin D cocoa" to that, and I'm pretty confident you'll crawl into bed happy and content. 😉
In my opinion, there's no difference in taste compared to the "regular" 3.5% fat fresh milk from Weihenstephan. Of course, the added vitamin D doesn't add any extra flavor either. However, I felt very good and well after drinking the milk. – I will definitely be reaching for this new fresh milk more often on the shelf now.
Are you also a true milk lover and want to try the new milk? – Then next time you're at the supermarket, stop by the milk aisle and add the new vitamin D milk to your shopping basket. It's worth it. Who knows, maybe it will even make you happier?
