Recently, I was chatting with friends at a Mexican restaurant about the individuality of tastes and how differently everyone defines "well-seasoned and spicy food." One person likes it salty, another prefers to taste the pure ingredient without much added flavor, and a third likes it hot, fiery, and intense. I was sitting with some enthusiasts of the latter group, and that's how we got talking about the highly sought-after and, among connoisseurs, very well-known online shop "PEPPERWORLD HOT SHOP." I found it interesting how many different ways there are to enhance dishes with spice in various levels and nuances (not just "making them hot"), and so, right after our get-together, I went straight to the Pepperworld website to find out more.

Anyone who knows me knows that I'm generally sensitive to spice, or rather, I'm very quick to label food as "too spicy." So, the way the products on the website are categorized by spiciness level immediately came to mind. Products are offered in the Mild, Medium, and Wild categories. These are then rated with spiciness points (1-10) to give you an idea of how hot they are. For example, there's also a "Beginner" category with products rated at level 1, such as the "La Chinata" paprika powder (70g for €4.50). If you're more of a tough customer, I can recommend the "Cajohns Jolokia Hot Sauce" with a spiciness level of 10. 🙂 I clicked through the different categories, looked at the incredible variety of products and options (e.g., hot sauces, snacks and sweets, chili plants and seeds, chili spices), and decided to give it a try myself.

After browsing the "International Specialties" menu, I eventually settled on a Spanish olive oil with smoky aroma and habanero chili (200ml bottle, Extra Virgin, for €11.95), which I ultimately chose. Making a selection isn't easy, as in addition to Spanish, Italian, Mexican, German, Portuguese, and American specialties, they also offer products from Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, and Scandinavia. Each product description includes brief information about its origin, what it goes well with, and what it pairs well with.

Since I usually add extra seasoning to my food, I also opted for a "fire sprinkler" – Cajun Dust. It's an authentic Cajun seasoning blend that gives seafood, meat, and poultry just the right kick and also serves as a perfect all-purpose seasoning at the table – not too spicy. With a heat level of 3 (out of 10), it's more than just right for me. 😉 Besides the spices and oils, I was particularly interested in the fresh produce, so I also ordered a 300-gram tin of assorted fresh chilies for €6.95. Ordering is very simple. You add your selection to the shopping cart, and after submitting your order, you'll receive your package – superbly packaged, even for the glass jars – within 2-3 business days, delivered to your preferred address (including parcel lockers).

When I opened my package, the first thing that fluttered out was a small information slip assuring me that my order had arrived in perfect condition and complete, and that I could contact them at any time if anything was wrong. I thought that was great service, even though I hadn't unpacked anything yet. 😉 Once I had my oil, shaker, and bowl of fresh chili peppers in my hands, I immediately let my (spicy) friends know, and we met up to cook—or rather, I was cooked for, since my culinary skills are rather limited. 🙂 What can I say? I got an extra pan because my friends can handle much hotter food than I can, but I was absolutely thrilled. Even the finger food sprinkled with the "fire tax" tasted good, and the rating of spice level 3 seemed realistic to me. My friends immediately wanted to know where I got the different peppers and the oil. So we browsed the site together, and that's how I discovered the cool category "Chili Seeds and Chili Seedlings." Really cool! You can order all sorts of different seeds and grow your own chili peppers – you can even buy growing supplies on the site. Here, too, you can choose the desired heat level for your homemade chili. What a great gift for anyone who likes spicy food, right? 🙂 It might even make the men want to plant flowers. 😉

Pepperworld also offers value sets, gift ideas and boxes, and suggestions for seasonal events like Easter, Christmas, and more. You can even buy books, posters, cookbooks, and other items related to chili and spice. The prices are also very reasonable. Here you can shop for spicy products at fair prices and pay conveniently online or by invoice. I have to admit that I hadn't previously given much thought to spice, peppers, chili peppers, and spicy seasoning, but now I'm glad to be a fan of Pepperworld and its seemingly endless selection. Take a look at the website, even if the topic hasn't appealed to you before. I don't know anyone who doesn't know at least one person who enjoys spicy food. Then you've found the perfect gift. And growing chili peppers is sure to be fun for everyone... almost as much fun as eating (spicy) food. Give it a try!

I will reorder the product(s): For everything related to spiciness, definitely. There's practically nothing you can't order from Pepperworld that has to do with spiciness.
