FOOD & LIFE Trade Fair 2021: What you can expect as a visitor | Finally! It's almost here, and this year's FOOD & LIFE at the Munich Trade Fair Center is about to begin. From December 1st to 5th, 2021, we can finally enjoy eating, drinking, and indulging in delicious food and drinks, and of course, discovering lots of new things. Numerous startups will be there again, presenting their new and innovative products in the "FOOD.Start.ups" area. The popular cooking stage and a brand-new NEWCOMER AWARD are also part of the fair in 2021. I'll be there every day and want to share my excitement with you.

Visitors to the trade fair can once again expect plenty of highlights this year. For example, over the five days of the fair, [the following will be presented] Approximately 180 exhibitors, producers, manufacturers, coffee roasters, winemakers, distillers, cheesemakers, and others. Their handcrafted and regionally produced delicacies. For many years, FOOD & LIFE has been my favorite meeting place to discover new products and meet familiar faces from the food industry, explore new things, and taste wonderful delicacies. I always discover something new at this fantastic trade fair, meet old and new faces, and enjoy being a part of it.

Naturally, this year's FOOD & LIFE trade fair is addressing the food and nutrition trend – towards regionally produced products and foods – on and local products, ingredients and regional superfoods They are the focus of the fair. Exhibitors, start-up founders, producers, and manufacturers will be happy to provide information about their products, ingredients, and production methods, and of course, they will also be happy to let you sample them. Claudia Weidner, the head of FOOD & LIFE, is at least as excited as I am about the food fair and mentions that the FOOD & LIFE fair deliberately thrives on the direct exchange between producers/suppliers and visitors, and also that Seeing, smelling and discovering the new delicacies form the core of the popular food fair.

For the first time at the FOOD & LIFE trade fair: The NEWCOMER AWARD for FOOD start-ups

Another highlight of the fair, and part of FOOD & LIFE for the first time this year, is the NEWCOMER AWARD for the participating food start-ups. In total, they represent 14 different start-ups, all completely new to the trade fair their products in „"FOOD.Startups" Area From date pralines with a crispy filling and a Cologne gin rosé made with berries to delicious chocolate made from the highest quality ingredients, countless exciting start-ups are on site again. It's best to take your time for each one – I know them all and I'm really looking forward to hearing what you think.

For the first time, these exhibiting startups have the opportunity to win fantastic prizes for their products by having visitors vote for and rate them. If you, as a visitor, particularly like a startup and its product, cast your vote for it at the fair and support it. By participating in the voting, you'll also be entered into the FOOD & LIFE prize draw and have the chance to win a sample pack of products from the startups. One thing is certain: one of the start-ups will not only gain new fans in the form of visitors, but also great prizes.

Exhibitors, chefs and cooking stage

Naturally, the focus is on the numerous exhibitors, but also on the popular FOOD & LIFE cooking stage This year, it is once again an important and popular part of the fair. It will also be staffed with true culinary and... Culinary luminaries such as Bobby Bräuer, Hans Jörg Bachmeier and many other culinary professionals. They are all united not only by their love of cooking, but also by their love of their homeland and their close connection to seasonal and regional cuisine – the main theme of the fair. The talented chefs offer a glimpse into their work, share preparation tips with visitors, and demonstrate how to easily and successfully prepare dishes using fresh, local ingredients. In addition, the Bavarian Ministry of Agriculture will be presenting products from select Bavarian farms at a large joint stand – I'll definitely be stopping by there as well. I'm also particularly looking forward to... Opening of this year's FOOD & LIFE trade fair Munich on December 1, 2021 State Minister and patron Michaela Kaniber.

Parallel experience: „Home+Craft“

Anyone familiar with the FOOD & LIFE trade fair from previous years knows that the popular and, in my opinion, very interesting Heim+Handwerk (Home & Craft) fair always takes place concurrently. As soon as you have a ticket for the FOOD & LIFE fair, you can also visit Heim+Handwerk. Heim+Handwerk is southern Germany's largest trade fair for living and interior design, offering a wide range of furnishing solutions, and in my view, it's the perfect complement to FOOD & LIFE. Together, FOOD & LIFE boasts a total of 600 exhibitors, which you can visit over the five days of both fairs, as Heim+Handwerk also takes place from December 1st to 5th, 2021, at the Munich Exhibition Center.
