Who makes the best coffee?

Young baristas wanted at FOOD & LIFE 2018

Germans' favorite drink: of course, (morning) coffee. FOOD & LIFE is right on trend, as the "FOOD & LIFE Barista Cup" will take place for the first time on Sunday (November 2nd, 2018, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. | Hall C3 – Cooking Stage). It's designed for all trade fair visitors who enjoy latte art, are coffee enthusiasts, and want to gain experience in the field. Anyone who feels confident with a cup or coffee machine can participate in the competition, and talented up-and-coming baristas with artistic skills for creating the perfect milk foam are being sought. Participants in the Barista Cup will not only compete with the appearance and consistency of their milk foam, but also against the clock, each time facing an opponent. The competition is divided into three rounds with a maximum of twelve participants. In a knockout system, an expert jury – as well as the trade fair audience – decides which cup and participant advance to the next round. Which design will land in the cup each round is decided by a draw. The Barista Cup is not only meant to be fun, but also to bring coffee experts and enthusiasts together in one place. It also aims to give trade fair visitors who aren't yet so "coffee-savvy" the opportunity to delve deeper into the topic of coffee.
