The Bistro Cameleon at Sebastiansplatz no longer has that name, but is now called... Restaurant Kleinschmecker. My companion and I only ate at Bistro Cameleon. We sat outside under a parasol in the summer for a French lunch, so unfortunately I can't say too much about the ambiance and the interior in this article. Cameleon served typical French cuisine from 10 am to 5 pm.
The menu (both handwritten on a chalkboard and in card form) isn't particularly extensive, but it's well-balanced and varied. Appetizers cost €5-12, main courses €12-20, and desserts €5-10. We ordered swordfish with vegetables and goat cheese on a bed of zucchini with vegetables. My goat cheese dish was very tasty and fresh. While it wasn't quite filling and I finished very quickly, there wasn't really anything to complain about. The swordfish (€20) was unfortunately inedible and not worth the price. The vegetables weren't fully cooked, and the fish was okay, but not very tender or enjoyable. We also had a white wine spritzer and a fruit juice spritzer and paid in cash – card payments at Cameleon were only accepted for bills over €40.
While it was quite pleasant to sit outside in the sun at Sebastiansplatz, the service and overall experience didn't live up to the high standards set by the bistro's prices. I'll keep this brief, as the bistro is no longer there. You can now find the Kleinschmecker restaurant here.
