Almost everyone who's even remotely interested in cooking, TV cooking shows, recipes, or food is probably familiar with the "Kochprofis" (Cooking Pros) on RTL 2. Most of that applies to me too, and so I've often found myself sitting in front of the TV watching them during a quiet moment. Naturally, I didn't miss the fact – thanks to TV commercials, conversations with friends, and browsing in bookstores – that there are also cookbooks to accompany the popular series. Since some of you lovely readers asked me to review these books, here's my report for you.
Whoever that TV format „The Cooking Professionals“ For those who don't yet know, in short: In each episode, three or four renowned top chefs travel by bus to restaurants on the verge of bankruptcy, test the menu items, and help the owners achieve renewed success with new ideas, culinary approaches, and business tips. Over the 10 years of the "Kochprofis" (Cooking Professionals) series, more than 300 episodes and countless test dishes have been filmed and tasted. In essence, the three helpful cookbooks offer the same insights as the series: The Cooking Professionals explain how you can cook well and enjoyably. 🙂
There are currently three different books by the professional chefs. The third book was released in mid/late September of this year. trilogy of the same name „The Cooking Professionals – Mission at the Stove“ And I didn't hesitate long before taking a closer look at all three.
Book number 1 ("The Cooking Professionals - On the Job" | Our Cooking School) Published in 2013, it presents the new cooking school in a straightforward and original way, encouraging even beginners to try things out and experiment. A sequel was released at the end of 2014. Volume number 2 ("The Cooking Professionals - On the Job" | The Big 1x1 of Cooking), in which the professional chefs focus on conjuring up the perfect menu. The four top chefs reveal their kitchen secrets and show in this book, with easy-to-understand steps and recipes, how to create the perfect menu – in other words, how to make a real impression on your guests, friends, partner (and yourself). 🙂 And because the professional chefs, as mentioned above, have been around for 10 years this year, the book was released just in time for the anniversary in September 2015. third volume („The Cooking Professionals – Mission at the Stove“ | The Hundred Best Recipes) in bookstores. The title says it all: 100 varied recipes – divided into 10 helpful topic chapters – await you in the anniversary cookbook: Whether schnitzel or pasta, or – especially – fan recipes from viewers of the show are also included in the book. So you have everything in one place. on 200 pages The best recipes from the cooking competition and the show are brought together.
The books are all in the Tre Torri Publishing, Published by the publisher specializing in food, drink, and leisure, the books cost €19.90 each. You can purchase the book, or rather the trilogy, directly, for example. here at the publisher. There, if you scroll all the way down, you'll see over 30 pages of the book to give you an impression. Just like the other two editions. (at €19.90 each, with 160 pages) The anniversary book also features numerous color photos, recipe images, and tips and tricks. For example, it includes an informative collage about the different tomato varieties, all of which can be used for cooking. There is also an overview of the necessary cooking utensils before you can really get started.
Of course, every book contains a Index with all recipes and an understandable one detailed overview of the individual chapters. All three of these stylish cookbooks have a Hardcover And they don't tear or break easily. At just under €20 per book, you're definitely getting a good deal. I really enjoyed browsing through the books and reading the short interviews with the Michelin-starred chefs, their tips and tricks, and of course, the recipes and articles about food and other topics. The books are very attractive, printed on high-quality paper, and—I always like to mention this—stay open on the page you choose, without needing to be closed or turned. Often, at least with my books, this happens, and then you end up with greasy fingers and the whole book gets covered in fingerprints while you're searching for the right page. I definitely appreciated this feature.
If you enjoy cooking, like the show, and are also looking to get a little more creative, these books will surely be a real treat for you, and I highly recommend them. I expect new creations, familiar classics, and also "quick recipes" for in between meals, such as... „"Quick Kaiserschmarrn", coleslaw with bacon or a delicious potato gratin. If you have a passion for cooking, the kitchen, and recipes, this fantastic trilogy, or at least one of the three books, is sure to be a hit – for example, as a Christmas present or an Advent calendar gift. I would certainly be delighted to receive these wonderful books.
Have fun with it.
