Sweet Sunday in three different varieties

SWEET SUNDAY – CHOCOLATE SPRINKLES on bread – Admittedly, I've never eaten Nutella on bread in my entire life. Okay, okay, maybe as a small child, when most of the chocolate spread ended up on the table, on my fingers, and on my clothes. But it's certainly been 25 years since I last combined "sweet chocolate with bread." This is partly because I generally don't like mixing chocolate with other foods, and partly because, when I do indulge, I only like high-quality chocolate – and in a "crunchy" form. So I was all the more delighted when I recently came across Sweet Sunday chocolate sprinkles for bread through a bit of online research (…I like to browse the internet aimlessly to discover new products…). Sweet Sunday offers high-quality chocolate sprinkles, or rather, spreadable sprinkles, in three varieties – ideal for "sweet buttered or cream cheese bread" and the perfect alternative to classic bread spread.

Sweet Sunday – Chocolate Sprinkles

„"Anyone can make hazelnut spread!" – Sweet Sunday is a fairly new product on the market and aims to offer a special kind of breakfast. Specifically, they offer chocolate sprinkles in (currently) three different varieties, perfect for sprinkling on buttered bread or as a crunchy topping for breakfast cereal or ice cream. This doesn't mean the sprinkles are only for breakfast – they're also ideal as a snack or as an addition to a mid-morning or mid-morning treat. The chocolate sprinkles come in simple packaging, and the "peephole" in the box allows you to quickly see which variety you're holding. Currently, the selection includes "Milk Chocolate and Cashew," "White Chocolate and Hazelnut," and "Dark Chocolate and Almond" – each packaged in a 200-gram bag for €5.50.

What's behind Sweet Sunday chocolate sprinkles?

The sweet "Schokovlokken" (chocolate sprinkles) originated in the Netherlands. In Germany, the Sweet Sunday team refined them, producing them from real, high-quality chocolate and packaging them in small bags. Top-quality raw materials play a crucial role in their production. Another difference from the original Dutch version is the inclusion of nuts. This combination of nuts and chocolate is unique, except perhaps in the familiar hazelnut-nougat cream. They are constantly optimizing their product, and will soon be switching from conventional nuts to organic ones. In general, they prioritize consistently high quality. Sweet Sunday chocolate sprinkles contain no palm oil, less sugar, and more protein than similar spreads. A sweet indulgence you can indulge in, so to speak.

Either grab a spoon and spread the sprinkles on your bread, or tip them directly from the brown paper bag. Since I don't personally use too much butter in my diet, I tried the Sweet Sunday chocolate sprinkles with cream cheese and thought it was quite good. You can also use them to jazz up any cream cheese sandwich. If you press the sprinkles down a little, nothing will fall off when you bite into them. The sprinkles are just as delicious in yogurt, muesli, or even on ice cream. Personally, I don't mix them into my muesli too often, as I find their flavor gets lost in it. However, I now regularly add them to my yogurt.

Do you want to try it yourself?

On the Sweet Sunday website You can learn more about the startup and order a sample pack. Perhaps you'll enjoy this deliciously sweet alternative to Nutella and similar products as much as I do. You can order online; shipping costs €2.75 per order. More flavors will be added soon.
