Advent Brunch at the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski / The Munich KitchenMark December 6th with a big red cross in your calendar. Why? Because it's the second Sunday of Advent and St. Nicholas Day. But that's not all – there's much more to look forward to: namely, the second of four Advent brunches taking place at "Die Küche München," one of the event venues of the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski. The brunch for the first Sunday of Advent is unfortunately already fully booked, but you can still reserve spots for the second, third, and fourth Sundays of Advent. To be able to tell you all about it, I met with the friendly manager from the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten beforehand to get the most important information about the upcoming brunch. And of course, I'll be there on St. Nicholas Day itself to test whether the brunch lives up to its promises – and it certainly does.

Now for the details: So, what exactly can you expect? First and foremost, a super cozy yet chic atmosphere. The Munich Kitchen, specifically the event kitchen located within the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten, which is usually rented for informal kitchen parties by companies or groups of friends, is the perfect place for this brunch. Naturally, it will be decorated for Christmas, and up to approximately 80 people can comfortably gather in this attractive location – I had a brief glimpse of it. Most importantly, since even the most beautiful decorations can't satisfy a rumbling stomach, the food on the buffet is a must. And here, as you would expect, you can look forward to a top-notch buffet, including a live cooking station staffed by professional chefs. Besides a variety of salads with different toppings and dressings, North Sea shrimp cocktail, Parma ham, antipasti, beef carpaccio, and goose rillettes, you can also expect specialties such as lobster bisque, truffle tagliatelle made with Parmesan cheese (live cooking!), pike-perch fillet on creamed pointed cabbage, or a crispy roast goose. From red cabbage with potato dumplings to venison ragout with cranberry cream and spaetzle, to sweet Christmas pastries, caramelized Kaiserschmarrn with plum compote, or gingerbread tiramisu for dessert, there's something for everyone.

The brunch costs a reasonable €59 per person, including drinks! So there are no additional costs. Of course, it can be done for a bit less, but we're talking about a very extensive buffet at the ***** Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski. The Advent brunch will naturally be of the same high standard and first-class quality for which the hotel is known. (I even got a little tour of the hotel during my visit). So you can enjoy as much first-class and deliciously presented food as you like between 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm. It's no wonder that the brunch boasts the same quality as, for example, the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten's breakfast buffet, since the brunch dishes come from the same kitchen, or rather, the same kitchen team. At Christmastime, you can certainly treat yourself and your loved ones to something so exquisite, right? I would be delighted to receive the brunch as a pre-Christmas gift, for example.Gift vouchers are of course available). Children naturally eat cheaper: Children aged 6-12 pay only 50% of the regular price for the same buffet, and children under 6 eat for free.

Also worth mentioning: Unlike many other brunch options in Munich, at the Vier Jahreszeiten brunch, drinks are included as part of the meal. This means wines (red or white), soft drinks, water, and more are all included in the €59 price. Drinks usually add up quickly and can easily be an extra expense – not here, which makes the price all the more reasonable in my opinion. The moment you step into the beautifully decorated hotel, filled with festive cheer and the delicious aroma of food, you'll know: Yes! It was worth it. However, you shouldn't come without a reservation, otherwise you might have to go home empty-handed. So be sure to book well in advance for yourself and your loved ones. here.

The Advent buffet also offers another special feature. The Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten commissioned an in-house study, asking nutritionists what they believe constitutes a balanced diet, and has tried to incorporate their answers as much as possible into the buffet offerings. You'll find several products bearing the "Balance your day" seal, which reflects the concept. This means they are particularly healthy, highly recommended, and ideal for a balanced diet. Of course, during the Christmas season, you might want to indulge in a little more than just salad or healthy fruit, but it's still interesting to take a closer look at what you're actually consuming.

By the way, brunch is a unique opportunity to get a taste of the hotel's breakfast offerings, as the Vier Jahreszeiten's acclaimed regular breakfast is exclusively reserved for hotel guests. It's like a taster session for you! So, my dears, throw on your blazer or jacket and head on over to brunch at the Vier Jahreszeiten.
