Schweiger Brewery | Marktschwaben – „"Bavarian is always a good idea!" That's why I'm not going to beat around the bush today about why I want to introduce you to the Schweiger Brauhaus in Marktschwaben. Located right in the heart of Marktschwaben, the Schweiger Brauhaus offers excellent Bavarian cuisine and a perfectly harmonious overall concept. I can't reveal exactly how I discovered it just yet, but I'll shed some light on the matter soon. 😉 One thing is for sure, and I can confidently say this right now: a visit is worthwhile. Not only because of the delicious food, but also because of the friendly and competent service, the cozy atmosphere, and the great beer.
Schweiger Brauhaus: Varied menu, regional ingredients
I tested the Bavarian brewery/tavern for you, visited, enjoyed a delicious meal, and chatted with the staff and the chef. I now know that Schweiger's Brauhaus places enormous emphasis on high-quality ingredients and invests considerable effort and research to ensure the menu is always filled with fantastic dishes, new products, diverse offerings, and, of course, fresh, seasonal, and regional fare. The origin and production of the ingredients are of paramount importance to Schweiger's Brauhaus. Therefore, in addition to the usual Bavarian delicacies, the menu always features a few specialties and dishes that you might not expect at first glance. In addition to dishes like roast beef with onions (for €17.60), Wiener Schnitzel (for €18.50), roast pork (for €10.80), and homemade apple strudel (for €5.50), the menu also includes, for example, a spicy lemongrass soup with coconut milk, mushrooms, fried shrimp, and coriander (for €5.50). There is also a selection of four different burgers – for vegetarians or meat lovers – with homemade bread and meat prepared for 16 hours in a smoker (from €12.50). In summary, this means you're in the right place for Bavarian dishes, but also for burgers, sweet Bavarian treats for dessert, or fantastic, juicy steaks from the lava stone grill (turkey, beef, or rump steak) starting at 400 grams. Those who enjoy a Bavarian "Brotzeit" (a light meal) will also be well catered for with the generous selection of Bavarian snacks (from €2.10 to €12.80).
Schweiger Beer
Besides good food, there's of course – as the name suggests – proper Bavarian beer. Schweiger beer comes from the Schweiger Brewery, which is part of the inn. The beer is freshly tapped for you and, naturally, goes perfectly with Bavarian cuisine. The Schweiger Brewery is a private, family-run brewery, established in 1934, and was founded in 1896 by Ludwig Schweiger, a native of Marktschwaben. Schweiger beer has a worldwide customer base, a wide range of beer and non-alcoholic specialties, and of course, many of them are available here at the Schweiger Brewery. You can order various Schweiger Brewery beer specialties on tap – all with a balanced ratio of mild sweetness and a smooth, hoppy bitterness. Take a look! here Let me tell you about the different beers and, of course, the dishes you can order at the brewery or tavern. During my visit, I tried the beef stew. It was delicious with dumplings and vegetables, as well as a tasty sauce. The meat was incredibly tender, I tell you.

When I was there and had a chance to chat with the chef, I asked him a bit about the inn, the ingredients, and the history of the place. I learned again in detail that varied, fresh, and traditional cooking plays a major role at the Schweiger Brauhaus. Everyone who comes in should be satisfied and find something to their liking on the menu. In my experience, the Schweiger Brauhaus is a very special inn because it's clearly one of those places where you can tell that—even if it sounds cliché—the staff still work and serve with genuine joy. The service is incredibly friendly, always attentive, always smiling, and tips are readily given. Vegetarians and vegans are just as satisfied here as meat-eaters. They also cater to individual requests. If you'd like a little more gravy, or prefer a potato dumpling to a bread dumpling, the Schweiger Brauhaus can accommodate those requests.
Key facts and personal conclusion
The Schweiger Brauhaus is open Monday to Friday from 11:00 AM to midnight, and on weekends from 10:00 AM to midnight. If you don't have a car, take the S2 train towards Erding, get off at Marktschwaben, and after a short walk, you'll reach the cozy brewery. Parking is readily available. You can, of course, pay by card. You can also rent the entire brewery for your private or business events, or book sections of it. The interior can accommodate approximately 250 people, and the inviting beer garden offers the same capacity in the summer. Oh, and by the way... in the summer, the chef prepares freshly grilled chicken and pork knuckle. While I can't guarantee you'll be as thrilled as I was, I'd be surprised if you didn't leave happy, satisfied, and with a smile on your face. I definitely know several fans of Bavarian cuisine who were completely satisfied here. A definite plus: You're welcome here whether you're looking for a hearty Bavarian meal, a casual after-work beer, or a quick chat (every woman knows what that is ;-)).
