Advance notice: Wine Dinner November 2019 – The Lonely Broccoli – For me, the Weinmahleins events are always a highlight. Although I'm a frequent diner, this exciting event series, presented by Mastercard Priceless Munich, always has a very special touch. I'm all the more pleased to announce the Weinmahleins on November 10, 2019. It will take place on Sunday evening from 6 pm (menu from 6:30 pm) at the restaurant "The Lonely Broccoli" within the Andaz Hotel in Schwabing. Wines from the Josten & Klein winery in Rhineland-Palatinate will be served. One thing is already certain: you can look forward to a fantastic menu, perfectly paired wines, and plenty of wonderful memories.

The stylish restaurant The Lonely Broccoli is located on the ground floor of the Andaz Hotel, situated in the new "Schwabinger Tor" district. To enter the restaurant, you pass through the equally stylish hotel lobby and immediately find yourself in the heart of the restaurant, surrounded by chic and classic furniture combined with a touch of retro style, harmonious decorative elements, subtle lighting here and there, and an all-around inviting atmosphere. The Lonely Broccoli is undeniably chic. Besides the integrated display cases, I particularly like the dominant kitchen islands, behind which the chefs demonstrate their skills at two cooking stations. Another nice touch: The chefs occasionally visit the table, offering recommendations and inquiring about guests' preferences. The prepared meat is of the highest quality and comes from the local butchers "Max Metzger" and Polting (Poltinger Lamm). It's prepared on the integrated charcoal grill, the Josper grill oven (…briefly, very hot…) or in the smoker for a particularly delicate aroma. You absolutely shouldn't leave the building without a trip to the 12th floor. That's where you'll find the "M'Uniqo Rooftop Bar" with a truly fantastic view, an equally chic atmosphere, and great drinks (…I've been there…).

Wine Meal November 2019: The Lonely Broccoli

The wine-themed dinner menu will once again be absolutely wonderful in November, created by the kitchen team (Martin Lahn and Felix de Bortoli) at The Lonely Broccoli. The culinary evening begins with an amuse-bouche followed by a delicate veal tartare with porcini mushroom cream and Belperknolle – a Swiss cheese. The second course features hot-smoked Label Rouge salmon with cucumber, radish, dill, and sour cream – sounds refreshing, doesn't it? Glazed ox cheek, black truffle, and parsley root come together on the plates for the main course, while the sweet finale is homemade Udzungwa chocolate – also found in my favorite chocolate range, "Original Beans" – with hazelnut and tonka bean.

The glasses, of course, won't remain empty, and so wonderful wines will be served course after course. Responsible for the delightful wines at the November wine feast is the aforementioned Josten & Klein winery, founded in 2011 by wine technician Marc Josten and certified oenologist Torsten Klein. They produce high-quality white and red wines of the Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Noir and Frühburgunder varieties from the Middle Rhine and Ahr wine regions. "We produce our wines according to the philosophy of 'Sua Sponte,' meaning 'from our own resources.' It's important to us to treat our wines with care, preserving their originality and individuality," says winemaker Marc Josten, who will be personally present at the wine feast. Look forward to a truly special experience in the glasses, as the wines have received numerous awards from renowned wine guides. And, of course, there will be interesting wine insights presented between courses.
