Special, high-quality and really delicious: Marasia goat's milk ice cream in four varieties

Ice cream with a twist!: The premium ice cream „Marasia“ – Do you like ice cream? – Of course you like ice cream. 😉 Who doesn't? That's why I want to introduce you to Marasia today. Marasia is not only an up-and-coming Munich food start-up, but also the founder and namesake of the high-quality and incredibly delicious premium ice cream "„Marasia goat's milk ice cream„"Marasia offers really good ice cream in various flavors ("Dark Choco", "Raspberry", "Hazelnut" and "Maraş Usulü Dondurma") also made with fine goat's milk.".

With its ice The start-up supports a goat sanctuary near Munich, where goats who have had a difficult past are given a good life. So, in addition to enjoying delicious ice cream, Marasia is also doing good for the goats. That's reason enough for me to want to know more: "Why invent goat's milk ice cream?", "What are the differences compared to cow's milk ice cream?", and "What's the story behind Marasia?"„

Marasia – The food start-up and its motivation

Before we lick and enjoy the ice cream, let's take a little look behind the scenes at Marasia. Behind the start-up are the young married couple Ahmet and Havva, the two founders and ambassadors of Marasia. In 2020, they not only managed to prevail against 600 other participants in a start-up challenge organized by BAYERN 3 with their "goat's milk ice cream idea," but with Marasia, they also created a health-conscious, sustainable, and truly special product in the form of goat's milk ice cream, unlike anything else on the market in terms of taste and quality. Now, about a year and a half after the initial idea to produce delicious goat's milk ice cream, the delectable Marasia goat's milk ice cream has been available in retail stores for several months.

Ahmet and Havva – the founders of Marasia

What I particularly love is that the proceeds from Marasia ice cream support a goat sanctuary near Munich. The founders, and everyone who buys Marasia, are helping to give these once orphaned and neglected goats a good life. By supporting the sanctuary, the founders demonstrate their strong opposition to factory farming and ensure the animals can enjoy a good life for the long term. For you, this means that when you choose Marasia goat's milk ice cream at the supermarket, you're not only treating yourself and your taste buds, but you're also automatically supporting goats in need and their ongoing care – pretty fantastic, right?

Besides the social aspect, I'll now tell you why it's really worth reaching for the Marasia cups in terms of taste, and what makes the goat's milk ice cream so delicious.

Only the finest, purest ingredients go into Marasia goat's milk ice cream.

Discover Marasia goat's milk ice cream

First things first: Marasia goat's milk ice cream, thanks to its ingredients, is not only a treat for those with a sweet tooth and ice cream fans, but also the ideal alternative for anyone who prefers dairy-free ice cream for personal reasons. Since goat's milk is lactose-free, Marasia is suitable for both allergy sufferers and those with lactose intolerance.

The goat's milk ice cream is made from high-quality, fresh goat's milk and exclusively from pure ingredients without any artificial additives. Cream or skimmed milk powder is completely omitted. Marasia consciously combines the delicious taste of ice cream with easily digestible and natural ingredients. This ensures the ice cream won't sit heavy in your stomach or cause any discomfort. Marasia also perfectly embodies the current trend towards superfoods, as goat's milk, with its high protein content and easily digestible fatty acids, is considered one of them.

By the way: The ice cream tradition so common today actually comes from Turkey, where good, creamy ice cream has been made from fresh goat's milk – not cow's milk – for centuries. Interesting, isn't it? This knowledge gave rise to the idea of Marasia, a truly delicious goat's milk ice cream made from the finest ingredients.

I like it, the goats like it – and you will too, I'm sure!

My personal experience with Marasia goat's milk ice cream

One of the first thoughts that comes to mind when you hear about goat's milk ice cream? – "Doesn't it taste totally like goat?", right? 😉 And I can guarantee you, no, it doesn't at all. When I opened my first tub of Marasia goat's milk ice cream – I chose the raspberry flavor – I was really curious to see what it would taste like. I had absolutely no prior experience with goat's milk ice cream, neither in terms of texture, smell, nor, of course, taste. Knowing that I'm a big fan of goat's milk products only heightened my anticipation for the Marasia premium ice cream.

Olfactorily, to my eyes, or rather to my nose, there's absolutely no difference to cow's milk ice cream. Marasia smells just like cow's milk ice cream: quite neutral, not unpleasant, and fresh. The first spoonful of ice cream I tried immediately amazed me. The consistency is incredibly creamy, the flavor mild and not at all overpowering. I can't detect any noticeable difference in taste compared to cow's milk ice cream – regardless of the flavor. I'd even go so far as to say that in a blind taste test, I could definitely pass Marasia ice cream off as cow's milk ice cream. 😉 My initial worry that the ice cream might taste "like goat" quickly vanished. Every single flavor comes through nicely, is easily discernible, and not at all overpowering. Neither the raspberry, chocolate, nor hazelnut taste artificial or too sweet.

Lactose-free and suitable for allergy sufferers: Goat's milk ice cream from Marasia

My personal favorites are the raspberry and hazelnut flavors. I'm not a huge fan of chocolate ice cream, but I actually like Marasia's ice cream so much that I've already combined it twice with a piece of cake and fresh fruit. A particularly special flavor is the fourth one, "Maraş Usulü Dondurma," which is primarily known and enjoyed in Turkey. Marasia skillfully bridges the gap between the Turkish ice cream tradition described above and the enjoyment of their ice cream.

So, now you'll surely want to try it too, right? – I can understand that. In Marasia store finder You can choose the supermarket near you and stock up on Marasia goat's milk ice cream – it's best to take two or three different varieties with you.

The tubs are available in 125ml and 500ml sizes – I recommend the larger tubs for the sofa, the smaller ones for your handbag ;-). When you buy them, please remember that you're automatically supporting the goat sanctuary – a thought that makes it taste even better.

A little bonus on top: With every tub of Marasia goat's milk ice cream you buy, you can also be a winner. Marasia has come up with a great idea for its community. Simply post a picture of your Marasia ice cream tub on your Instagram and tag the Marasia Instagram profile. The picture with the most Marasia ice cream tubs wins a Marasia ice cream supply (five 500ml tubs) and a visit to a goat sanctuary – including petting the goats. Cool, right?

Hello,
I believe there is no milk without lactose; at most, goat's milk has slightly less lactose than cow's milk!
It might be a good idea to change that.

Regards, Karin Pesch

I also really enjoy the goat's milk ice cream that's available near Düsseldorf from a goat farm.

The biggest advantage for me as a patient with coxarthrosis is the absence of arachidonic acid.
