Time to try it!: Läderach – Fresh Chocolate™, Pralines and More || I recently told you about the The history, origin, and philosophy of Läderach I've already reported on it and given you a first glimpse into the product range. Clearly, now it's time to try it, because even the best chocolate and the finest pralines can't escape my temptation. 🙂 To sample some of the highlights and get to know Läderach in person, I went to the Läderach store at Karlsplatz Stachus. There, I had several varieties of FrischSchoggi™ broken at the counter and some handmade pralines packed up so I could then enjoy a thorough tasting.
My visit to Läderach in Munich
I was full of anticipation as I headed to Läderach Munich – a very nice store with plenty of space, a diverse product selection, and a prominent counter, all enveloped in the wonderful aroma of chocolate. The store offers a wide variety of products, including Läderach praline boxes with different contents, chocolate bars, discs and figures, gifts and souvenirs, popcorn in various flavors, Tartufi, and much more. At the heart of the store, the Läderach counter, You'll find numerous varieties of FrischSchoggi™ (fresh chocolate), as well as a seemingly endless selection of handmade and fresh pralines – with and without alcoholic fillings. Also different varieties. Mini chocolate kisses from Läderach, called Mini Mousse, can be purchased directly at the counter.
After browsing for a while and looking at everything on the shelves, I was naturally drawn to the counter – following my nose! 😉 For me, there's almost no more delightful sight than a counter stocked with wonderfully fragrant pralines and delicious chocolate – simply divine! I selected several items from both the FrischSchoggi™ and the pralines and looked forward to the subsequent taste test at home.
Fresh chocolate™, pralines and popcorn from Läderach put to the test
As a little reminder: The FrischSchoggi™ from Läderach This refers to the chocolate that you can select fresh at the counter in any of the over 100 Läderach stores and have broken and packaged according to your own wishes. The staff will be happy to advise you, ask about the desired quantity and size, and even wrap your personal FrischSchoggi™ package as a gift.
How much of each type of chocolate you take, or perhaps just several pieces of your favorite, is entirely up to you. This system is simply ideal for getting to know different varieties. To begin with, it's best to take just a small piece of each type, find your personal favorite, and then on your next visit – which will definitely happen after you've tasted them all 😉 – simply take more of your favorite broken chocolate. Practical, isn't it?
In total, Läderach offers over 20 different varieties of broken chocolate, also known as FrischSchoggi™. In addition, there are regularly changing exclusive varieties that ensure variety in the FrischSchoggi bag. Currently, for example, the variety is "Hazelnut – white Swiss chocolate with roasted and caramelized hazelnuts"; previously it was the variety "Sour Cherry-Raspberry – white and dark Swiss chocolate with raspberry and sour cherry, crunchy sour cherry pieces and flakes".

My selection: Seven varieties of the finest FrischSchoggi™
Back to my selection. So many choices, so much to decide, right? – That's why I relied a little on the expertise of the friendly lady behind the counter when filling my chocolate bag. After her advice, I finally decided on seven varieties of FrischSchoggi™ (Fresh Chocolate) and a box of 24 different Läderach pralines, which I also customized myself. While browsing the shelves, I also picked up two different kinds of popcorn: Läderach Strawberry and Läderach Chocolate Popcorn in 185-gram boxes (they're also available in larger and smaller bags). Once home with my chocolate, I immediately started the tasting.
At the FreshChocolate™ I chose the varieties „"Pistachio"“ – dark chocolate with roasted pistachio pieces; the current Limited Edition „Hazelnut“ in white with caramelized hazelnuts; „"Strawberry quark"“ – white chocolate with fruity strawberry slices and light and airy quark (incredibly good!); „"Coconut"“ – Milk chocolate with coconut filling and coconut sprinkles; „"Hazelnut Milk"“– Whole milk chocolate with caramelized hazelnuts; „Dark almond“ – dark chocolate with almond slivers and „"Almond blond"“ – White chocolate with caramel and roasted and caramelized almonds from California. You can also find a complete overview of Läderach FrischSchoggi™ on the Läderach website under FrischSchoggi™.
Both My selection of Läderach pralines Let's start with my chocolate photo (see left) in the top left corner and go through it row by row:
Row 1: „Rigoletto square“, „Marc de Champagne“, „"White mousse"“, „"White Truffle"“, „"Strawberry Champagne - White Chocolate"“ and „Coconut-Yuzu – White Chocolate“.
Row 2: „"Baumnuss Branchli"“, „Dulche de Leche“, „"Truffle Baileys"“, „"Truffle Coconut"“, „"Truffle Milk"“ and „Trois Frères“.
In the third row you can see the varieties. „"Walnut Marzipan"“, „"Hazelnut Cream Truffles"“, „"Truffe Cognac"“, „"Truffle Caramel"“, „Piedmontese milk“ and „Praline Cocobello“.
The fourth and final row starts with the variety „"Pistache Gianduja"“, followed by „"Dark mousse"“, „Grand Cru Ecuador“, „Praline Arancini“, „"Le Noir"“ and „Grand Cru Trinidad“.
What the entire range and all the products I tested have in common is the immediately noticeable quality of the Swiss chocolate used, as well as the very high-quality raw materials. For me, a telltale sign when tasting sweets is that you can primarily discern the individual flavors used, and not just taste "sweet" or even "way too sweet," but rather that you can identify each flavor component – sometimes subtle, sometimes intentionally more pronounced and dominant. With Läderach – especially with their pralines – this is absolutely true. With some of my pralines, my "co-tester" and I conducted a blind taste test and correctly identified yuzu, cognac, pistachio, and Grand Cru Ecuador. 🙂
Personal conclusion and tips
You can't see it, but the whole time I've been sitting here typing away, sharing my tasting experience with you, Läderach's delicious selection of pralines has been sitting right next to me. With my senses slightly dazed and the wonderful aroma of chocolate in my nose, my conclusion is clear: Läderach is simply fantastic! Not only in terms of quality and in accordance with the company's established guidelines and principles (…close relationships with partners, only the best quality, product variety, etc.), but also because Läderach offers consistently high quality across its entire range, as well as a wide variety of flavors and options to suit every taste. Most of you probably know that Swiss chocolate is among the best in the world. Läderach demonstrates just how excellently this can be crafted into the finest chocolate artistry. In other words: One piece of Läderach is all it takes to lift your spirits. 🙂
My personal favorite In terms of product selection, it's FrischSchoggi™. I liked it best in the flavors "dark almond", "strawberry quark", "hazelnut milk" and "pistachio".„. I personally liked the chocolates The fruity varieties and those with alcoholic fillings tasted the best.. I love the skillful combination of (dark) chocolate and a little alcohol. Among the top contenders: „Coconut-Yuzu“, „Baileys“, „Cognac“ and „Dulche de Leche“. „I didn’t like it!“ was not heard during my tasting.
If you're tasting it yourself, don't miss the Fresh Chocolate™. It perfectly represents Läderach's top quality, and I really appreciate being able to decide exactly how much of each variety you want. I've lost count of the evenings Läderach has made relaxing on the sofa, spending time with friends, and enjoying time with loved ones even more special. By the way, I recommend the popcorn for snacking on the sofa. If you just want to try one variety first, My clear popcorn test winner (for strawberry and chocolate) is the strawberry variety..
My tip for youNext time you're in town, instead of buying your 300th item of clothing, why not treat yourself to a really nice box of Läderach chocolate? No matter what you choose in the Läderach store, you'll understand my enthusiasm. And after trying it yourself, you'll understand even better why I usually only spend my own money on food and delicious treats. 🙂 Keep my words in mind next time you're in town and let me know which FrischSchoggi™, pralines, and shelf highlights you pick up.
And so it continues…
In my fourth and penultimate article, I look at myself in the Läderach online shop Thanks to the well-stocked online shop, you don't necessarily have to leave the house to discover Läderach's delicious range. However, if you'd like a custom-made chocolate box, you'll need to visit the store in person, as only pre-assembled boxes are available online.
Until then – I can only repeat myself in this case: Be sure to visit Läderach, treat yourself to something nice, and when you're thinking about the next gifts that will end up on your loved ones' birthday table, in a gift bag, or as a small token of appreciation, be sure to think of Läderach.
