MICHELIN Guide Germany 2020 – The new MICHELIN Guide Germany 2020 was recently released. We were all eagerly awaiting the announcement of the new Michelin stars awarded in Germany, and specifically in Munich. Now it's here: the MICHELIN Guide Germany 2020. There are now a total of 308 Michelin-starred restaurants in Germany, 14 of which are in Munich – meaning Munich has gained two new starred restaurants this year.
The MICHELIN Guide Germany 2020 – What's new in Munich
Having reviewed all of Munich's Michelin-starred restaurants in 2019, I know exactly what cuisine, quality, and special features you can expect as a guest at each establishment. Until the recent announcement of the new 2020 stars, Munich had 12 Michelin-starred restaurants. Les Deux (previously with one star) received its second star. Congratulations! The Munich restaurants Mural – where I also dined in 2019 – and Sparkling Bistro Munich were awarded their first stars. Congratulations on your first star! Munich now boasts 14 Michelin-starred restaurants.
New nationwide stars
We're also delighted to announce a new three-Michelin-starred restaurant in Germany. It's located in Berlin – Rutz. Congratulations on your third star! Now, 10 restaurants in Germany hold three stars – two of them in Munich and the surrounding area: Atelier at the Bayerischer Hof and Überfahrt on Lake Tegernsee. Including Les Deux, mentioned above, a total of seven restaurants in Germany have received a second star, and 29 restaurants nationwide – including Mural and Sparkling Bistro – have earned their first star.
