How did this come about? Quite simply! We're all familiar with the Hard Rock Cafe. Whether here in Munich, in New York, or even in Hawaii. The chain is incredibly well-known – unfortunately, and far too often, from completely inaccurate perspectives. But before we delve into false stories and facts about the Hard Rock Cafe, let's first celebrate its 15th anniversary in Munich.

From February 9th to 23rd, a variety of events will take place to celebrate the anniversary. From the Bavarian Air Guitar Championship and DJ nights to poetry slams, there's something for everyone. Myths and facts about the Hard Rock Cafe

The mere fact of Cafe name There are many stories and myths surrounding the Hard Rock Cafe. "Hard Rock" isn't necessarily the main focus of the cafe – even though many guests probably expect it. No, it's quite the opposite. Back in 1969, after recording their album "Morrison Hotel," the band The Doors stopped for a nightcap at a bar in downtown Los Angeles. They drove through the streets, discovered a bar then called the "Hard Rock Cafe," went in, and spent the evening there. Inspired by this experience, the band named the first side of their new album after it and even chose a photo taken in the cafe as the album cover. Today's Hard Rock Cafes have nothing to do with the aforementioned bar in Los Angeles. Years later, the two Hard Rock Cafe founders, Peter Morton and Isaac Tigrett, asked The Doors if they would be okay with naming their first cafe in London after their album. The band agreed, and the story of the Hard Rock Cafe dynasty began. Due to the popularity of this music genre at the time, the Hard Rock brand became an absolute trend. Contrary to popular belief, "Hard Rock" is meant to be more about keeping up with the times musically than simply including "hard rock." Many visitors to the Hard Rock Cafe today expect a different kind of music during their visit. However, the true essence of the tradition, also strongly practiced in the USA, is playing contemporary music. So, on your next Hard Rock Cafe visit, remember: Hard Rock doesn't necessarily mean only "hard rock" music.

The next myth, or rather one of the most widespread and erroneous rumors, is that Bruce Willis or Sylvester Stallone would be the owner. 😉 No! That's wrong. Planet Hollywood was once located at Munich's Platzl, but it's been gone since 2002. So, the two of them have nothing to do with the Hard Rock Cafe, nor will you meet them there – unless they happen to be eating burgers 😉. Also, the idea that the Hard Rock Cafe is a „Tourist trap“ That's not true. Over 401,000 visitors are from Munich and the surrounding area. I'd like to specifically dispel the rumor that the Hard Rock Cafe is an "overpriced burger joint." The focus should be much more on the fact that the Hard Rock Cafe generally buys very few processed foods and uses far more raw ingredients. They buy from outside the region as infrequently as possible, and everything is prepared fresh daily. Good quality is paramount, and details like their own smoker, daily homemade sauces, dressings, guacamole, and spice blends demonstrate that quality plays a major role at the Hard Rock Cafe. The price-performance ratio is more than reasonable; you'll notice that after the first bite. Many people are also surprised that it actually just one Hard Rock Cafe There is one in Munich.
