Back again!: HOTEL SCHLOSS LEBENBERG in Kitzbühel – Anyone who reads my posts knows that I regularly and very happily make a trip to Tyrol, primarily Kitzbühel. Firstly, because I always enjoy the region and its people, and secondly, Mostly because their kitchens and pots offer at least as much variety to see and taste as we do here in Germany. Even before the pandemic started in mid-March, one of my favorite destinations for a short break was the beautiful Kitzbühel in Austria. A wonderful place with fantastic restaurants and excellent hotels. Now that things have finally been given the green light again and Kitzbühel is open to guests, I checked in with one of my favorites to see what's new: the 4-star superior Hotel Schloss Lebenberg.
Anyone who hasn't yet experienced this chic hotel has definitely missed out and should take advantage of its recent reopening as an opportunity to discover Schloss Lebenberg. This Austrian luxury hotel has been my destination for short breaks several times, and I've always enjoyed wonderful evenings, excellent cuisine, a perfect feel-good atmosphere, and, of course, the fantastic setting for winter sports, hiking, leisure activities, and more. Now, since June 26, 2020, this opportunity is finally available to all of us again.
What's new and what can you expect on site?
First, let me tell you about one of the coolest new features of the hotel, in my opinion: Schloss Lebenberg has had its own beehives for several months now, housed right on the hotel grounds, where they live and produce honey. This honey, produced by around 30,000 bees from four hives, is now available not only in jars as a souvenir, but also as part of the generous breakfast buffet. Pretty cool, right?
I'm so looking forward to going back to Kitzbühel, relaxing, recharging, and of course, having breakfast. They still have fantastic local and regional products – the latest example being honey from their own bees. Perhaps you read my post about the breakfast buffet at the beginning of the year? (No? – Read more here. There have also been some culinary changes. Head chef Marcel Dornheim is still at the helm, and he will now be serving his guests a fantastic four-course tasting menu that changes daily. Look forward to some wonderful culinary experiences. The upscale à la carte restaurant "Das Lambergs" will be closed for summer break until August – after which you can expect some exciting new offerings.
Some of you may be wondering what your stay will be like and how the pandemic is being handled. Naturally, all safety measures are being followed, and every care is taken to ensure the highest hygiene standards. But don't worry, you'll be able to relax and unwind as usual. The spa area is open as normal, and you can use the magnificent panoramic pool without a mask. The loungers are spaced appropriately – as is the case in the dining areas. So there's absolutely nothing to worry about.
There's also reason to be excited about events, as Hotel Schloss Lebenberg and Kitzbühel are known for fantastic gatherings and events. These are now possible again for up to 50 people. So look forward to hearing from you soon about what will likely be the first event after the reopening at Hotel Schloss Lebenberg, featuring food and drinks, music, and a great atmosphere.
Tip for hikers in the surrounding area
Kitzbühel is known, among other things, for its breathtaking scenery. For winter sports enthusiasts and nature lovers, there are few regions more popular than Kitzbühel. The countless mountain huts and alpine pastures, accessible via various hiking tours and well-maintained trails, are an integral part of the experience. One alpine pasture I plan to visit on my next trip to Kitzbühel is the... Seidl-Alm, This is considered one of the last traditional alpine huts in Kitzbühel. The hut is a fantastic summer spot, offering an extensive Austrian menu, breakfast, and stunning views. I'll be telling you more about Kitzbühel's alpine huts soon.
Are you now eager to experience Hotel Schloss Lebenberg and come visit? – Great! You can currently book a package deal from Sunday to Thursday. This includes four nights with gourmet half-board for (starting from) €394. You can find more details and information about what to expect here.
