Laurin – tested at Deliveroo.de – It was time for my fourth restaurant review on deliveroo.de, and I want to tell you about it. This time I chose Laurin, a wonderful restaurant at the Viktualienmarkt. If you missed the first three reviews, you can read about my orders here. Urban Soup, the Glockenbach and Tenno Read more. In these three previous tests, I already had the opportunity to try a wide variety of food. Soups, fish, meat, curries, sushi, risotto, and more went straight from the Deliveroo bags to the plates of my companions and me. This time, I was craving something a bit more substantial and decided to order from Laurin. Laurin is located on Heiliggeiststraße and offers Austrian cuisine.
Restaurant Laurin offers a selection of six different appetizers, five main courses, and four different desserts – all from Austria – on Deliveroo. When I placed my order on the Deliveroo website, I couldn't decide at first – as is usually the case. Firstly, because with menus, it's always true that "too many choices can be a burden," and secondly, because I already knew that Laurin offers excellent cuisine. I've dined in the cozy restaurant at the Viktualienmarkt more than once, enjoying wine, fish, Kaiserschmarrn, and other local specialties. Well, this time I was particularly interested to see if Deliveroo could deliver the food with the same quality. After my dining companions decided, faster than I did, on the "Grilled Sea Bream with Potato Gnocchi and Spinach" (for a reasonable €19.90) and the "„Three different kinds of bread dumpling: Having opted for the "Beetroot/Spinach/Cheese on Mushrooms with Parmesan" (for €11.90), I chose the " to taste a little "Austrian fire" 😉“Original South Tyrolean Schlutzkrapfen with brown butter and Parmesan cheese,“ that is Pasta dumplings filled with spinach and ricotta (for €12.90).
We ordered the meals a few hours before the desired delivery time, specified the time, and then waited at the appointed time for the – until then, always friendly – Deliveroo driver. With this, our fourth order, Deliveroo was late for the first time, although "late" is a bit of an exaggeration compared to other delivery services. We wanted a delivery at 6:00 PM, I received a text message at 6:01 PM saying it would be about 10 minutes late, and at 6:12 PM the young man, visibly rushed, arrived with my bags and a friendly smile. I always feel a bit sorry for the drivers when I see them standing at my door with all their bags. 🙂 I gave them a small tip, and there I was in my kitchen with my ordered Austrian dinner, which cost a total of €47.20 (including the €2.50 delivery fee). Before we start unpacking: I'd like to mention again that Deliveroo's service is truly excellent. As you've probably noticed, I'm currently running a discount promotion for new customers (until mid-March) on my website. I've received feedback from several of these new customers – all of whom are readers of my website. Everyone (!) received their food on time, regardless of whether, like me, they live right in the city center or not. Absolutely perfect. So, if you don't want to go out, you're definitely on the safe side here – after four tests. Once you've created your profile, you're finished ordering in just three or four clicks – whether using the app or the website.
Back to the Austrian delicacies. In short: we weren't disappointed. The three dumplings were incredibly delicious, each one bursting with flavor. They were perfect in combination with the mushrooms and the Parmesan cheese, which came in a separate container. The Schlutzkrapfen (filled pasta pockets) were just as good. After removing them from their packaging, they looked exactly as if they had been served to me in a restaurant. In other words, great care was taken with clean and separate packaging, and all the dishes were attractively presented in individual Deliveroo boxes and containers.
Packaged up. The sea bream was in a separate box, and the gnocchi and spinach were in another. Just look at the pictures, and you'll understand my enthusiasm. Once you've plated the food, there's absolutely no difference from eating in a restaurant – except for your own couch. ;-). Everything arrived hot and fresh, and my expectations of Deliveroo, as well as those of the Laurin restaurant itself, were not disappointed. I was a little annoyed that I didn't order any of the desserts. The Kaiserschmarrn, the apple strudel, and the apple fritters were already calling my name when I ordered them, but I managed to be sensible. From my own experience at Laurin, I can tell you that you should definitely order the Kaiserschmarrn and you won't be disappointed.
That concludes my initial testing. After a month and four test orders, you've surely gained a good overall impression of Deliveroo's service and reliability. I will certainly order again from time to time, and while I might not always manage to write a detailed article, you'll definitely find delicious Deliveroo dishes from restaurants all over the city on my Facebook page or Instagram account.
If you're now tempted to order, why not give Deliveroo a try: With the voucher code "BIANCASTIPP" you'll receive a €10 discount on your first order at deliveroo.de until March 15th.
