Punjabi Roti | Indian delivery service – The ninth and penultimate Lieferheld delivery service review is about a delivery service called "Pujabi Roti." That should make it clear what kind of cuisine this review focused on: Indian, of course, one of my favorites, and one that varies considerably in Munich in terms of quality, preparation, spiciness, and taste. Pujabi Roti isn't a restaurant, but "only" a delivery service for Indian food. You can either pick up your food yourself or—even easier for you—order it through Lieferheld and have it delivered to your home.
Indian cuisine is very diverse, and those who generally prefer spicier and saucy dishes will usually find something to their liking at an Indian restaurant. Punjabi Roti offers a wide range of different dishes on Lieferheld. First, as with any delivery service, you'll see... Lieferheld.de – the 10 most ordered dishes from the delivery service. In the case of Punjabi Roti, these currently include, besides the classic naan bread, which goes well with any meal, predominantly chicken dishes, such as Chicken Tikka Masala (€6.50), Butter Chicken (€10.90), or Chicken Curry (€9.90). The rest of the menu features cold and hot appetizers, soups, salads, numerous vegetarian dishes, grilled specialties, dishes with duck or lamb, and also fish curry creations. The selection is therefore diverse and varied.
The choice of delivery service: Punjabi Roti
I chose this delivery service because it was highly recommended to me by a big fan of Indian food from Munich. Once again, I found that personal recommendations are still the best, as Punjabi Roti is definitely one of the better Indian delivery services in Munich. My companion and I tried two different appetizers and two different main courses. It was important to me to choose fairly classic dishes for my test, as my numerous experiences and trips to India have given me a pretty good palate for Indian cuisine. If the classics are good, you can confidently order again. So, I did. For the appetizers, I focused on Paneer Pakora and Chicken Pakora (each for €4.50). Pakora means breading, and Paneer is a type of Indian cheese. You can see the appetizers—breaded Indian cheese and chicken—in the pictures. Both were attractively packaged and presented, pleasantly seasoned, and quite palatable in combination with the accompanying dips. Anyone who likes cheese or palak paneer will also enjoy these Punjabi roti appetizers. The main courses included a classic mutter paneer (€9.50), a vegetarian biryani (€9.90), chicken palak (€9.90), and a lamb curry (€10.90). Naan bread was also available for €2.50 each.
Evaluation of the courts
Biryani is an Indian national dish – a rice dish with your choice of chicken, lamb, shrimp, or just vegetables. I chose the vegetarian version with almonds and raisins. I love biryani, and if you absolutely don't like anything too saucy or spicy, it's always a safe bet, as it's a simple rice dish without any sauce, yet packed with flavor. I hadn't had Mutter Paneer in a while, but I really enjoy it. Vegetables with lots of peas, rice, and Indian cheese – delicious and (if desired) not spicy at all. This dish is ideal if you prefer vegetarian food, like it mild, and enjoy vegetables and a slightly tomatoey flavor. If you like something a bit spicier and with meat, you should order the lamb curry. It tastes really good at Punjabi Roti, better than in many restaurants, and it also has a nice kick. Chicken Palak is another classic dish and a great choice for chicken lovers. Lieferheld also offers the option to add a personal comment to many dishes. "Not too spicy!" or "A little more rice, please!", etc., can therefore be added individually.
My personal conclusion
The delivery was excellent. According to the Lieferheld app, the food should arrive within a maximum of 60 minutes. After just under 35 minutes, the friendly delivery man rang my doorbell and handed me the order. Once the food was arranged on the dining table, we started tasting. From the appetizer to the last bite of the main courses, we were absolutely delighted. Of course, it's always the same story: the presentation suffers a bit during delivery, but the taste of Punjabi Roti's dishes was, and still is, absolutely flawless. I can therefore recommend ordering from this delivery service via Lieferheld – also because of the fair prices and generous portions – if you'd prefer the comfort of your sofa with a movie and good food to a restaurant and menu.
At this point, I'd also like to reiterate that I've ordered from Lieferheld at least 50-60 times now, and—apart from my own fault—there have never been any problems. When I accidentally ordered the wrong thing twice, someone on the Lieferheld hotline answered immediately and resolved the issue with me. So I can wholeheartedly recommend the platform itself.
