Main Bavaria Wine – Franconia comes to Munich I regularly report on exciting wine events in Munich. On Tuesday, November 8, 2016, a very special event is taking place, which I would like to introduce to you in more detail. The event is themed "Main Bayern Wein" (Main Bavaria Wine), where over 40 different wine producers and winemakers will present their best wines at the Künstlerhaus (Artists' House).

What can you expect at "Main Bayern Wein"?

The Künstlerhaus (artists' house) will host both established and renowned cult winemakers and up-and-coming producers on this day. The ambiance of the event, with its grand and inviting Künstlerhaus, is perfectly chosen. Silvaner is the focus of the event, and visitors can sample, learn about, and taste it. From top Silvaners and famous single-vineyard wines to exciting new discoveries, "Main Bayern Wein" offers something for everyone. Of course, you can ask each winemaker anything you'd like to know about their wines and purchase some to take home.

Both wine connoisseurs and those who simply enjoy wine are welcome. Unfortunately, the WineWalks – familiar from other previously presented events – are already fully booked. These special tours, led by Munich sommeliers, visit selected wineries, who briefly introduce themselves and pour a wine for tasting. The idea is to make it easier to get to know the wineries and their wines. Of course, even without a booked spot on a WineWalk, you are welcome to visit each winery's stand at your leisure and sample their wines.

If you're a wine professional, you can arrive at the Künstlerhaus as early as 2:00 PM. For all other wine enthusiasts, the official tasting begins at 4:30 PM (and runs until 9:00 PM). Important: Be sure to register online in advance to secure your place on the guest list. This will reduce the entry fee to just five euros instead of 15 euros (at the door). You can register on the organizer's website, where you'll also find an overview of the participating wine producers and information about the event itself.
