Rabenwirt in Pullach I can absolutely recommend the Rabenwirt in Pullach. It's a bit of a drive, but it's well worth it. An acquaintance of mine celebrated her wedding there, and I was reminded of it again this August. We didn't hesitate long before trying the Rabenwirt ourselves and were thrilled.
From the outside, the restaurant's interior gives a different impression. The place is very rustic and Bavarian, with light wood, light-colored furniture, Bavarian curtains, chair cushions, black and white pictures, and small Bavarian flower arrangements. During our visit, the restaurant was served by a single server (in a dirndl), which was perfectly adequate for about 15 tables. The menu, which was presented to us immediately after we were seated, was concise but very well-organized, offering a variety of delicious dishes, including vegetarian options. As usual, it took me a while to decide, but I was very satisfied in the end.
When we ordered and our food arrived promptly and simultaneously, we were delighted: The pike-perch on risotto was excellent; the fish was cooked thoroughly at my request and, unlike so often happens, wasn't slimy at all. My companion's braised beef with onions was superb, and the fried potatoes were beautifully crispy and equally delicious. We ordered the goat cheese with antipasti at the same time as our main courses. Overall, we ordered far too much again, but we managed to eat it all and were very satisfied. Given how much we had already consumed, we decided to skip dessert, although there were several tempting options on the menu, such as Kaiserschmarren (shredded pancake).
The service was friendly and quick – although there was a bit of chatter and little attention at the table, but that didn't affect my meal. 😉 We didn't have to wait long for anything, and there was nothing to complain about with the dishes. Card payment is accepted. We didn't need a reservation; we decided to go on the spur of the moment. It might be advisable to reserve during the week due to the size of the restaurant. Give it a try – it's worth it: good Bavarian food in a great Bavarian atmosphere.
