CLEVERFOOD – The healthy delivery service

+++ Advertisement: This post was created in cooperation with Cleverfood. Thank you for the products! +++

I recently showed you my delivered food from CleverFood on my Facebook fan page  As shown in the photo. Now follows the promised report, and I can already say that it tasted really delicious, I will order again, and ordering food delivered to your door is definitely worthwhile for any fan of home delivery. In more detail: Clever Food is a relatively new delivery service for healthy – and, as I now know, also very good and fresh – food. After ordering and being positively impressed overall, I looked into Clever Food a bit more and can recommend it.

Food selection at CleverFood in Munich

But first things first: the food! After browsing the flyer and the website, I decided on a filled baguette with salmon and avocado (for €8.75). It might sound a bit pricey at first, but when you see how big the baguette was, the price is quite reasonable, as it's very filling. Significantly larger than a typical whole-wheat baguette from a bakery, it was generously topped with fresh smoked salmon and avocado, lettuce, and a delicious sauce. The baguette is also homemade and made with ingredients such as spelt flour, buttermilk, carrots, zucchini, rosemary, and thyme – free of leavening agents or additives. All Cleverfood baguettes are handmade in-house.

I chose the fresh salad with goat cheese and toasted almond flakes, consisting of seasonal leafy greens, goat cheese, seasonal fruit, cherry tomatoes, and honey. Delicious and totally my kind of thing! The dressing was fantastic (not some run-of-the-mill packet stuff) and comes in a separate container made of PLA – that is, 100% biodegradable bioplastic. You can even choose from six different dressings – for example, honey-mustard or orange-ginger. The salad portion is also very filling and, at €8.75, reasonably priced. The salad is actually quite filling on its own, but if you're really hungry, a generously filled baguette to go with it – especially now that it's getting a bit warmer and you don't want to order anything hot – is a great option. The menu also offers a selection of baguettes with different toppings. On top of that, I also got a wheat-free (!) muffin for €2.95, which I devoured immediately afterwards (…yes, I was hungry! 😉). It was very nice, not crumbly and dry like the desserts and cakes that are often delivered, but fluffy and light.

Extensive menu with a changing weekly menu

Because it sounded so tempting, and I always seem to finish my food, I let myself be persuaded to order a delicious main course – which can always be reheated and enjoyed later. I opted for the "spicy bell pepper quinoa with fresh zucchini." The dish consists of quinoa, bell peppers, zucchini, tomato paste, natural vegetable broth (without MSG), onions, and spices – and you absolutely (!) must try it. (CleverFood team, please keep it on the menu! ;-)) It was so delicious, and if I hadn't already stuffed myself with salmon baguette, goat cheese, salad, and a muffin, I could have eaten non-stop. This main course, by the way, is part of CleverFood's "Premium" offerings. Premium here means that the dishes contain so-called "superfoods," which I've mentioned several times in previous articles. Superfoods have an exceptionally high proportion of healthy nutrients and are, so to speak, the "top stars" of the food world. The Premium category is characterized by particularly sophisticated recipes based on superfoods and is regularly updated with new variations on the menu.

Alternatively, you can view CleverFood's entire menu online at any time. CleverFood offers a regular standard menu with classic dishes, rotating salads, main courses, and desserts, as well as a variable menu with weekly changing specials. It's best to also check out their website, where CleverFood explains their concept and how and when you can order. In addition, CleverFood offers catering and planning services for your events and company parties focused on "healthy food"—whether for canapés or a cold or hot buffet.

Delivery, shipping, opening hours

Clever Food is currently only located in western Munich. Regarding delivery, in these postal code areas Delivered. But those who don't live there can rejoice. A branch in Munich's city center is planned. "Not trying it" isn't an option in my opinion, as the food clearly stands out from a standard delivery service where the salad isn't as fresh, plentiful, and dressed. Besides, the menu also features some very special dishes that aren't available everywhere.

As for the delivery: it didn't take long at all. Lately, I've unfortunately experienced that my online or phone-ordered food takes almost longer to arrive than if I just cycled to the restaurant, ate there, and then cycled home. 😉 Not so with CleverFood, because it was quick, and I was actually able to have lunch without having to wait forever. CleverFood is open Mondays from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Tuesdays through Fridays from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and Sundays from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM. The kitchen is closed on Saturdays. I would definitely recommend ordering from there and enjoying your meal. I was impressed by the freshness, the taste, the ingredients, and the service and friendliness of the CleverFood staff. I'd be interested to know if you're satisfied when you order. Remember that you can check out the weekly changing menu online if the standard menu isn't enough for you, or if you're already familiar with everything.

I'll order again:  Definitely for freshly prepared lunch dishes that are quickly delivered to my desired location.
